I can go play live 1/2 at my local casino. It's 45 minutes round trip. People play like morons at 1/2 and I'd say on average (a guess) I usually come out leaving with $100 more than I walked in with after about 4 or 5 hours of playing. I also walk out remembering I was paying $6/hand in rake every time we saw a turn card. Sometimes I have to buy water, and that costs money too.

I can play online. The commute time is ZERO. The rake is maximum $3 per hand. And so far I am making about $40/hr playing 100nl online, so 5 hours will usually mean +$200.

Guess which way I am leaning?

I'm dreaming about live play. To check my abilities, face during play, bluffing. I think, it's cool and at least interesting. But, I don't have enough free money for that yet

For me, Live poker is way, way better than online play.

I like playing online rather than live. This way I can play in my PJ's and nobody knows. Online I can put on "sit out" and go to the bathroom and nobody knows. ha ha
I was in a tournament last night and someone said they were going to eat dinner and would be back. They put on "sit out" and 1/2 hour later they were back and still had plenty of chips.

each have their benefits for me

online I can play 6 or 7 tournaments in the same time it takes me to play 1 live one.

Live - I play better and get to test my reading abilities

I like the tells you can see in the Live game. Also I think a lot of the people who would be at the casino if there were no online gambling would be there and the talent level might make it a little tougher to win. Just a thought, not sure if it makes sense.

I have never played live as my closest casino is about 3 hours away in each direction. I am in between Tunica and Metropolis so them are my only two options. I am however planning on going to Tunica for a few days in a couple of months so I will report back then on how that goes.

I really enjoy my weekly tourney with my friends.
We've been playing together for two years now, and playing in the real world really improved our game.

live it's expensivier, and slower. Online is easyer, and allot faster. If you are a good player, live is easyer. Spot the fish, and take him down. easyest thing

No matter how much more convenient it is to play poker in my living room....it is never, ever as much fun as playing live.

There is so much more to pay attention to that I am never bored when playing at a brickandmortar casino, and I cannot imagining this ever changing.

I don't think either is better, they are both fun and I enjoy both, but in different ways. Just wish I knew some local people that wanted to play private poker games...

I prefer live games myself. But, I live in Ohio, where casino gambling is a sin, and all my other live games have dried up. Its two hours to the closest out-of-state casino. Online has its moments, but there is nothing like the feel of chips in your hand.
