anyone else have this problem, you know what you should do in a situation, but you are just compelled to make a different move... for example calling an all in with a flush draw on the flop.

or someone betting into you hard but you have TPTK and decide to go with it.

and then when this happens you swear you won't do it again, then you do it again!

anyone else have this problem?

Dont worry, Watch the high rollers when they play mtt. Volume is the only way most of the make money.

You cant call a pre flop raise with suited connectors then hit the flop four to the flush and fold.

Making calls without good odds (regardless of whether you know better or not) and overplaying TPTK, that is being terrible at poker.

To be honest, I do similar, I play about twice as many hands as I should, don't fold them easy enough post-flop and keep lowering the SPR in spots so I can make a marginal shove which is usually close to neutral EV at best and given the nature of playing in questionable spots I make enough mistakes that those questionable plays are overall -EV.
So yeah, I suck at poker too.

You don't play SCers so that you can call an all in, you play them so that you can push all in (well, bet/raise, whether it's all in or not). There's a big difference.

I would suggest playing micro stake cash games and low level MTTs so play anyway you want to. At the same time play higher stake games and play like you know you should. over thousands of hands you will get the hint what is a really good call or not and you risk little money this way.

On FT I play rush poker I play the lowest limit and only put $4 at risk, if I double up or more I cash out and enter again with $4 if I loose the money I am done untill the next day. I have been up $60 and lost it all with bad beats.

The lower stakes will allow you to play crazy like you do sometimes and the higher stakes you do not take the risks on.

What you are saying is contradictory.

If you keep doing the wrong thing, you are not good, no matter how sharp your powers of hine-site are.

You are not on your own and CC is a great place to get help on your game. So do make full use of that. In all honesty take a step back and really get a grasp on your ability because if you delude yourself, you make it difficult to actually progress... You cannot fix something if it isnt broken.

True. Your play and moves are what make you the player you are. Bad moves = bad player, good moves = good player, unbelievable moves (which actually work) = Your name is Ivey or Dwan. You get judged on your accomplishments not on what you thought or knew you should have done, but didn't. Sorry. ;)

Are u making money?...thats all that matters. If u go 'by the book' all the time and do what u are SUPPOSED to do...other players will get a read on you. I call once in a while with garbage..if the other players see it, they cant put u on a hand, they have no idea what you are holding. do whatever works

its called self control. No i do not do that, I have it. the one thing every one in poker should know is when to fold.

What you could do is get a system and just stay with it, Make sure you follow it. You should use pot odds, there is a whole bunch of programs you can install so you could stick with that system.

That is where you should start, but poker is not all about what pot odds and math, if you have a read then go with it. If your not sure your ahead most times its easier just to fold so just get self control.
