So had a guy come into my office today and hes trying to create a poker game for mobile devices and possibly PC play that is essentially like clubwpt or other sweepstakes poker sites. Requires a monthly subscription etc for revenue.
However, the difference is that its poker played with collectible cards. If youve never played a CCG, its simply like Magic the Gathering and you can put down collectible cards which affect the game of poker. We came up with many different cards that could be used.
Blind poker (played before cards are dealt...you see other peoples cards but not your own)
Change Suit (you can change the suit of one of your cards to any other suit card still avail...you must use the card even if it turns out the suit you want is not avail in the deck still.)
There are countless cards we came up with that I think would make for a very interesting game...the cards would have their effects viewable by other players but some cards may be played face down and be used to "trap" another player by changing his play (force better to double bet) or simply as an effect on the hand in general. Not only would the monthly subscription generate revenue but the collectible cardds could be sold as well (in addition to being won by placing in tournies).
What do you guys think? I actually told him that it probably wouldnt be patentable...but that I would definitely invest money in it. I think its a great idea. It would add alot of different plays to the game and make it more enjoyable not only for "skilled" poker players but also for the much larger market of pokerplayers who play for fun.
