How exactly does the wsop work. So the buy in is 10k and what happens after that. Do casinos from all across the country do it like from west to east coast or are they different tournaments for each casino? Also, would a professional have to buy in and play with average people during the beginning rounds, a person like phil ivey or dwan?

If you're talking about the WSOP Main Event then anyone who wants to play turns up at the Rio casino in Vegas on the day, they plonk down $10,000 at the buyin desk and they get to play. It's only played at the one casino and you have to pay your money and start from the start regardless of whether you're a pro, an amateur or a drunk billionaire.

Casinos across America (and indeed, across the world) run what are called "satellite" tournaments with much smaller buyins where the main prize is often a trip to Vegas and $10,000 to buy themselves into the Main Event. Those tournaments aren't actually part of the World Series though.

WSOP is a organisation that is celebrating every year a tournament serie in Las Vegas. There are more than 60 tournaments with diff poker games and diff buy ins. In the last years they used the pokerrooms in the Rio Hotel , but its also possible that they move to another hotel and casino in future. U can play every tournament u want ( exept senior tournament, dealers tournament or if u are a man, ladies only tournament) Depends what u can afford. Buy ins differ from 1k to 100k dollar. The ME is the bigest tournament of the serie with around 6.5k entrants. The final table is played in october to be streamed by ESPN.
