I was playing so well for awhile. I went from nothing to about 700 dollars lost that then turned nothing into about 300, then lost that. Now I'm back at square one. Any suggestions on how to stay focused. I can go on good strings for a long period. But it would seem that playing well sometimes get me in trouble when I call with the best possible hand on the flop or turn, usually is what gets me in trouble.

I see that allot of you, have been making thousands yearly without hitting bottom outs. Just wondering if you had any plans or routines that help you do above the average.

It looks like you need to follow bankroll management. It seems like you have the skill but the going broke seems to point to poor bankroll management. Do you play cash? Mtt? Sng? Live? Online? Either way you need a plan. Don't play games that are outside of your bankroll. Stick to 200 tournament buyins. 25 to 50 cash game and sng buyins. If you stick to this, you will have more long term success.

This is how quite a few losing players think. They want to believe they're winning players, so they tell themselves they're the victims of inordinately bad luck.

This is also quite often paired with incorrectly thinking their results during winning streaks reflect their true ability level.

Either or both of these can lead or contribute to poor BRM.

The fact that you lost an entire $700 BR and then a $300 one certainly suggests you have poor BRM. But maybe it will help if you try to understand why - whether it's these reasons or others.

I think the problem might be you do not have a bank roll. If one hand is why you lost then you should have probably never played in that game. Now are you increasing the table stakes or staying at a certain level ? Maybe you should think of how you built your bankroll. Did you play higher than you should? Did you grind it out? Just remember you might need a hundred thousand hands to have an idea of general long term results.
