i went on tilt and started just owning people left and right to the point where im unbeatable

should i play hands i dont usually play because right now im hitting pretty much anything i play but im only playing group 1 and 2 hands

A 'hot streak' is nothing more than a state of mind which will usually adversely affects your decision making. There is no luck - only odds.

Playing a lot of hands has nothing to do with agression. Playing loose/aggro on the verge to maniac can be very effective, but it can also be very very expensive.

Just look at Tom "Durrrr" Dawn. He raises and re-raises every hand, and is very successfull, but with huge swings.

heres the part from the book. its called texas holdem secrets by roy rounder

4 stages of momentum

stage 1: hot streak
this is when you catch tons of great cards and lucky draws

stage 2: catching cold
this is when you keep getting scraps and bad draws

stage 3: tilt
this is when you start acting crazy and making poor decisions...usually because of a previous bad beat

stage 4: read machine
this is when youve got a fantastic read on your opponents and know what to play in each situation

when youre playing hold em you will go through each of these 4 stages of momentum at different times. sometimes youll be hot. sometimes youll be cold. sometimes youll be on tilt. and sometimes youll have a great read on other players. and just as importantly, the other players at the table will each go through these 4 stages as well.

the secret is to learn how to capialize on these natural forces of momentum. when you start a great streak of cards, be thankful for your good fortune and start playing more aggressively

..............

what do you think

When you're on a hot streak, you should do whatever is working for you until you stop winning, and that's when you go back to normal.

On the Everleaf network, I started with 98 cents, and starting playing in a way that I had never played before. I got up to $700 in less than 20 hours. I was almost unbeatable. When I realized that I was starting to lose, I went back to my regular playing style, and everything worked out.

It felt awesome. I wasn't worrying at all about my bankroll, and I just played the absolute best that I could. I definitely did not follow Bankroll Management rules, and just kept on playing. I played at six-max No Limit Hold Em tables, usually with about 3 or 4 players. I also played alot of Heads Up games with people that I had tagged as fish.

If you find a fishy, you want to keep playing with him or her until he or she is busted and leave the table.

That this is mathematically wrong and bad advice, honestly.

A sequence of cards is nothing more than statistically independent events. For example:

You're about 6% to be dealt a pocket pair. Let's say you've just been dealt 10 PP in a row. You're on a great streak, right? No. The odds of you getting a PP remains 6%, no matter how many of them you got in a row.

Streaks are historical events. Things that happened to you, not things that are happening and will continue. They might, they might not. That you've run hot has no bearing on subsequent events.

So, no, I wouldn't suggest playing bad because you're running hot. Play the same as you always do.

Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention that when I went on my hot streak, I lost it all a few days later in one hand. I just made a thread about it in the "Brags, Beats, and Challenges" area of the forum, lol.
