Hi CC i like play freerolls, i think is a good way in my practice to be a good tournament player but here i have a question maybe ridiculous, In the begining of a tournament why some players have about 6k 7k 8k in chips, is that an strategy?? for me is hard to make easy chips in the begining.. TY

Some players play hard during the early stages of a tourney to accumulate chips, some play tight then loosen up later on when the blinds get bigger. I guess it is your personal preference or style(s).

Freerolls are difficult as the experience level of these players is usually low so it can be difficult to adopt a certain strategy and stick to it, but it is a great place to experiment with different styles and different strategies than the ones you are accustomed to.

Some people are gambling with weak hands and getting lucky/ some people are being dealt great hands and getting paid off. Don't worry about what other people have at first when the blinds are low. I think the best play in freerolls is Tight and Aggressive because when you play loose in freerolls it's very tricky to bluff people off hands (usually), and when you play tight and value bet, they are rarely going to be folding either.

In Titan there were a guy with 20000 chips after 5 minutes playing. The average were 1500...I guess he won 4-5 allins with huge gambling. They drops out later cos they continue the game with this "strategy". They are usually pinheads or crazy...but sometimes not, so be careful with them. :)

Others like starting with huge stack in rebuy-addon freerolls, so they buy chips. That gives them advantage.

In freerolls in the beginning, their are two types of players really, the one the will go all in the first couple of hands, and the ones who will wait till that madness is over and try to play real Poker

in most of the freerolls there are a lot of loose players, in turbos it is pushing anyway, so they just go all in and get lucky sometimes...

if you see that in the first 10 - 15 minutes of the tournament that's because the lucky player got 1/2 or 3/4 of the table to go all in on the first hand :D if you get pocket aa off the bat i go all in  of course i'd still slow play them lol...

Lots of player end up with lots of chips early because they get lucky and win with marginal hands. By the way, freerolls are a great way to learn how to play many types of poker games

I agree. At the beginning there are many crazy/weird/poor players. He has to learn how to find them out. As the tourny goes on these poor players drop out and there are more and more good players. Getting in the top10 needs skill so there are only good players there. Differendt strategy is needed for different type of players. :)

I like to call them DONKROLLS. Players going all in with ATC trying to chip up. I like to sit back and pick these donkeys off.

I play freerolls buy waiting for a good hand in the beginning stages, you make a big raise and the chances are that u will get a caller with a marginal hand.i will aways follow on with a bet after the flop to see where i am,but if i know i still have the best hand, i will put in atleast a pot size bet.

it is always a bit of a lottery when it comes to free rolls, but always make sure u make your oponents pay to see cards.
