What is yours? I would have to say mine is Jack-10 suited. It is very appealing to me.

Seems my biggest winning hand is QQ, so I guess I choose that.

Well, if the thread was called what is the best starting hand, it may be different. I want an answer from the heart. What takes your breath away when you lay your eyes on it?

From the bottom of my heart, my favourite hand is the one that makes me the most money!

That said I'm partial to KJo as well, just so I can yell "BILL FILLMAFF SPECIAL BABY!" when I win with it (www.billfillmaff.com if you don't know what I'm on about - watch the vids, they're hilarious).

J 10 suited is my second favorite hand...so many possibilites.

I wont say my favorite hand because it is my lucky hand and I dont want to jinx it ;)

(I hit trips on the flop with this hand like %60 of the time, its nuts!)

I hate these "Favorite starting hands" threads. The only answer should be AA.

Good evening everyone. This is Lon McEachern and Norman Chad reporting from the final table at the 2006 wsop. The 87 Million Dollars has been wheeled out and we're now Heads-Up between Johny Chan and Liam "Tenbob" O'Brian. Lets go to the table.
Johnny in the small blind. Shows his cards to the camera. AA. Nice position to be in in Heads Up. He's short stacked and this may be his best chance to retake the chip lead. And yes, he goes ALL-IN! Tenbob thinks for a moment, CALLS! Turns over K,10 and ohhh... Johnny's not happy to see that! The game is over, Johny Chan is all but drawing dead and Tenbob along with Chris Moneymaker and Greg "Fossilman" Raymer, will complete the pokerstars.com trioka!

I would rather have a little fun while playing poker than always think of it as a math problem. Having a favorite hand and getting it during a game kinda makes that hand more interesting. Poker is about more than calculating odds and "geez, all these people are idiots! Dont they know AA is the best hand?!?"

Oh, I agree, I like to have fun too. Personally, I think winning is fun. But that's just me. So, my favorite hand is naturally the one that gives me the best chance of having my kind of fun. Other people have different reasons for choosing their favorite hand, like the pretty colors and shapes, or maybe they're nostalgic and remember the "good times" they had together. And that's ok too. To each his own. Now, purely from an asthetics point of view, I still think that a pair of aces is very pretty to look at. I choose Spades and Hearts I think.

Well since it seems like someone always busts my AA. I would have to go with AK suited.

Two answers:

Firstly my favourite starting hand is AA, we all know why but..........

( i think this is the answer you were after ) my "fav" hand to see is Q9 hearts, don't know why but its been real good to me. I suppose it looks good, its up there in the better 1/3rd of starting hands but is easy enough to throw away if you don't hit. ( Works with any suit but hearts seem to win me more )

The problem with AA is that you win big or lose big. Same goes for KK. You end up pushing all the chips in by the turn. How fun is that. I have to agree with Doyle. I like AK suited the best. You have a great hand that is easier to let go and can have lots of variations on how to play. You can make lots with it and let go easier.

I like 8 4 for some reason. Seems if I play them I either hit a flop of 448 or 567 otherwise I hit nothing and can easily fold

Naturally AA or suited AK, but for some reason I love a suited A 9. No reason why. I have also had freakishly good luck with, of all things, 6 3 in big blinds.
