Tournaments are better(more money in prizes, more fun to play), but if you want fast ending, then sit and go or cash games are alternatives, but there are different playstyles too between tournaments and sng or cash games.

I've tried it all MTTs, S&Gs and CG. Recently I stick withe CG as I started loosing my BR with S&Gs.
I think I would never rely on MTTs if you want steady earnings (how much depends on levels you play and feel comfortable with) but then committing to only one type would make me bored quickly.
I consider MTT as nice event, a weekend play, from time to time.

I agree with you buddy! I love the feeling of making the money and getting to the final table! I rarely play cash because of it.
I prefer TOurnaments every day in the week. It's like day and night, i really cant understand how anyone can appreciate cashgames, the thrill in tournaments when u get to the finaltable and double up.
The nits gets there ass beaten, because the blinds go up, in cashgames the nits just wait and wait and beat you with higher set... and u are down and need to grind up again, at that point i tend to tilt. In a tournament i get just as mad but i am out and there is not much i can do about it.
If poker was only cashgames i would be out of it. I can win a tournament and be 100dollar up in a day, but at 10NL (my level at CG) i get like 10dollars in the best of days.

I also prefer tournaments. Why it is hard to explain, but in them I feel confident. Though here. Probably because I know - no one will go up from the table, at his own request, in the middle of the game, with my chips, until everything is lost, either all win. Something like this...

to me, cash games are boring and the win rate is capped. on a night where you crush the table, you might leave with 3x your buy in, versus tournaments, the final table cash is exponentially higher than your buy in. I think you see the returns of a tournament way faster and is a better way to build a roll.

I've only played a live tourney once or twice (and it was for prizes not cash) but have played a lot online (MTTs) which helped me start my live cash bankroll. I love the competition and the build up as the tourney progresses. It feels more like an event rather than a grind.
But I definitely enjoy cash games, esp live ones, because there's so much time flexibility and can build a bankroll more consistently as you improve. Mostly full ring cash games.

I like them all. I love the flexibility of cash games but love the payouts and winnings of a tourney. In a cash game, you won't win as much in 11 hours than winning a tourney 11 hours later. You will will much more in tourneys. The problem though, you can play 8 hours of tourney and lose basically a buy-in of a cash game and you can lose a buy-in of a cash game in just minutes. But then again, it will take 8 hours to win a mincash of 3 bucks and in a cash game, you can win 8 bucks in just minutes.
