There were some big names on full tilt today battling it out in some exhilirating $500/1000 6max. Phil Ivey, Galfond, Zigmund, Gus Hansen, and Patrick Antonius to name a few. Hundreds of thousands of dollars were being won and lost every couple minutes.
So with over 2 million dollars combined up for grabs between the two tables, I felt inclined to watch. Nothing real fancy for a while, mainly Antonius raping Ivey over and over again, Antonius was up over half a million within one hour.
Antonius took a break, meanwhile Ivey won most of his money back off of Galfond and a random high stakes guy....Then Ivey bounced out, leaving Antonius who finally returned, Zigmund, and two guys I havent heard of one of which was "kingsofcards".
Thats when the unthinkable happened, I looked down and saw that this kingsofcards was in a flop with Antonius, and some raising and reraising went down.
The board was Jh4c6s
Patrik Antonius made a standard continuation bet of 12k into a 17.4k pot, after reraising $8200 preflop to kings' initial raise. Kings' snap called upping the pot to 41.4k.
The turn came 2c
Now with a board of Jh4c6s2c, Antonius checked up, at which point kingsofcards fired immediately with a $28,200 bet. Patrik Antonius than decided to snap RERAISE 126k!!! Which Kingsofcards, almost immediately, CALLED!
So we saw a river with a 293k pot, it came Jd!
Almost 300k in the pot Jh4c6s2cJd, Antonius first to act.
He used all his time, including a time bank call, and checked.
Then came kingsofcards, and at this point everyone was wondering what the hell was going to happen, kingsofcards proceeded to milk the clock, and at the last second, went all in for his remaining 100k.
With the pot now up to 395,000 dollars, Antonius sat and deliberated. And finally THE CALL!
And in the end what hand earns almost half a million dollars....ANTONIUS's KING HIGH?!?!?!?!?!?
I am not kidding you, with the straight possibility on the board, the massive reraising preflop, the two jacks, kingsofcards had 8c5c, and Antonius Kc10c. They both missed their flush and still wound up with it all in the pot.
Now I've seen alot of poker both online and off, but I have absolutely no idea what to think of this....it absolutely makes no sense, can someone explain???
