Great point ... even while here at home, 'tis still a good idea. We get ours at Thanksgiving time each year .... and mainly because we go out 'n about and exposed to the Public at various venues/events.

I have heard of more people getting sick from taking a flu shot. I'll take my chances.

Years ago the flu shot were more active in their make/up. the shots today are very safe. 312,000 to 1 About the same odds as a royal flush in hold-em. get the shot. It should cost about 20.00 at your local clinic.

Another warning, the house always wins.

Flu shots are not very effective anyway. My friends who are doctors all don't get the shot even though they can get it free just because the chances of negative effects from the shot is as large as the chance that it will help you. Like last year in Chicago, the flu shot was totally useless against the strain that emerged. I would save my money.

If you're a Vet, it's free. Just go to the VA and they will have you out in literally 5 minutes.

Oh yeah....... You can suffer some of the symptoms for a day or two. But you won't get sick. Just a scratchy throat and clogged nose. Maybe some sneezing. But no temperature or hacking or stomach pains. None of that crap.

Can't remember the last time I got the flu. Flu shots are useless unless you have weak genes.

It's good advice. I think some university did a study a year or two ago about the amount of bacteria that is on chips. Anyone who has ever played at the Taj in AC, knows you want to dip your hands in bleach after playing there with their chips.

But I think ultimately, there is no more or less chance of getting sick from playing poker than there is typing on a public keyboard. When you are around others who are sick, it is more likely you'll pick up what they have.

If you are playing at a table where someone is coughing away, you'll have to weight getting up and leaving vs. staying and maybe making some money but possibily getting sick.
