My normal total AF is 2.73. Today I've decided to be quite a bit more aggressive, I'm 3betting more PF if not 4betting depending on who it is. Being a lot more aggressive on the flop and turn if It's a pretty dry board. Today my total AF today is a 4.0, and it has been awesomely profitable today. curious to see how aggro you guys are and do you think a 4.0 is to aggressive??

I was 2.5 in 2NL and am 3.67 in 5NL (since there is no folding in 5NL, 'cause folding is for weaklings). Won in 2NL and am losing in 5NL.

in 4NL mine was about a 2.7 as well but it was a complete fail. suck outs back to back.. seemed like the same with 20NL but not as bad i guess. i been up a down a lot in 20NL but I'm wondering would a high AF be key for this stake? seems like it's a lot more profitable than my 2.73.

Well the higher you go the more aggro everybody is.

Ignore aggression factor. Its an unimportant stat. There are a million other things you should work on that will help you out to beat the games.

Also just because your af is 4 today doesnt mean anything. Sample size is one of the most important stats. AF of 4 doesnt mean anything over 50 hands or 500. Even with 5000 hands there are a ton of other stats you should look at rather than af.

i feel this is something i missing actually is the aggression. i seem to do a lot better with being a lot more aggressive. i know that there are so many more stats to be looking at, that i have been looking at, and kind of been ignoring the aggression. I'm going to continue how I've been playing and hopefully it'll be a little more profitable.

I dont know anything about your style but look to be aggro in the right spots. Play the player/situation rather than worrying about your stats. Also being very passive and weak tight might be the best style on vs a particular person.

I guess what im trying to say is dont worry about your stats (unless something is way off like you are playing 22/3) but rather play vs the player.

If youre struggling when you move up, compare other things like opening hand ranges in each position and cb% etc vs your 2 limits to see if something is off there. Also look at your biggest losers and make sure youre not just making bad decisions.

Also each limit will play a little differently so find out where you are losing vs where you were winning at your lower limit and make the appropriate adjustments.

My overall AF over 25k hands at 10nl is average, 2.5, mainly because there are so many fish who bet so small i would rather take pot odds than bloat pot when they don't fold anyway.

Mine's about 2.7 at 6max 5nl running 25/22. Used to run 4+ on fr 5nl 6 months ago, didn't go as well but not horrible either. I guess my point is that, AF matters less than you think when it doesn't fall way out of the typical range of 2.5 to 4 IMO.

How aggressive you tend to be also so depends on your openingrange. Naturally the bigger your openingrange , the smaller your AF will tend to be inevitably.

My AF is never below 3.5 for a significant session, and is often much higher. Not because I get crazy aggressive, but because I rarely call. You do not need to add light three betting, naked bluffing or excessive barrelling to raise your aggression factor. If you want to increase this stat; stop calling bets & raises, and fold more on the early streets. Your red line will likely start to go up too.

AF is only postflop, preflop play wont affect it.

Also af equation is AF = (Raise % + Bet %) / Call % all postlop.

If you look at that equation it doesnt really mean anything. I only have af on my hud to use the popup. I totally ignore the actual stat. Ones i do look at are cb%, fold to cb, raise cb, xr, etc. Those types of stats are more useful and the ones you should be worried about.

IMO it's Amin use is at detecting passive fish only, if their AF is below 1 over about only 50 hands, you can definitely label them a passive fish' yes this stat converges faster for fish because of their retarded VoIP

..it really doesn't say much about regs though so yeah, I agree that cb stats are much more useful.
