Hi
So my regular live game has a few new members and one of them is a reasonably good LAG. By "reasonably good" I mean that although he loves to raise pre-flop (especially when he is first to the pot), he also shows the ability to fold post-flop/turn and not be a total maniac. I've seen him suck out on a few hands, but typically, when he is in at showdown he has either a good hand, or a good combo draw. He has been cleaning up over our last few games.
Pride requires me to say that he has not taken my money - but although I have been winning along side him, he has been winning more than I have, and it is making think about how to adjust.
In past games, I have largely stayed out of his way. When I have legit cards, I three bet him or re-raise him post flop, and he has always folded.
That is fine, and is probably why he does not have my money, but it strikes me that I am kind of playing into his game by waiting for good cards before I push back. If I were him, I would keep right on LAGing, fold to 3-bets etc., and simply keep stealing many small pots plus a few big ones.
How do others adjust to LAG players (assume that they are reasonably good and not total maniacs who will call you down 100% of the time with air)?
A. tighten and trap
B. loosen a bit and push back
C. loosen a lot
D. other?
Thanks.
