Hi,
i would like to set a holdem cash game for 7 players.
i have 500 chip set with:
150 X 1$
150 X 5$
100 X 25$
50 X 50$
50 X 100$
the buyin should be 50$ with unlimited rebuy (i would like players to have as much chips as possible but with sufficient chips left for rebuy).
what should be the starting stack size?
how many chips of each type should a player gets?
what should be the blinds?
thanx,
itay
Starting stack size should be $50: 20X $1 plus 6X $5. With the first "rebuy", put the rest of the smaller chips on the table. When someone else rebuys, start introducing the $25's.
You can have only a very short stacked $1/1 game, or a very, very short stacked $1/2 game.
OR...
If you are going to have a game where you are using $1 chips to represent an amount of money that is not $1, then you will have an extremely confusing game (in terms of understanding real value of bets), but the structure and chip distribution would be much more understandable. This would be like a cash/tourney hybrid game. Start everyone out with "$200" in chips.
For the first six players:
25X $1
20X $5
3X $25
Give the seventh player:
30X $5
2X $25
Let the seventh player get change from someone else who wants more $5's or $25's. now all your change is on the table. The next person to "rebuy" can get 8X $25 until all the $25's are on the table. Then rebuys can get 2X $100's. The $50's are non standard, and, in my opinion, confusing. I would not use them, but they are there if you need/want them. But you will not need them until you reach the 169th buy-in.
It is unusual to have a standard buy-in and rebuys in a cash game. Usually, a cash game allows buy-ins from a minimum to a maximum. Minimum is usually 20X Big Blind, maximum 100X BB. Top-ups can be for any amount up to having the maximum in one's stack (in this case, never more than $200). By restricting players to fully "rebuy" for the initial starting stack, you are creating a tourney situation. What if someone is down to $10 in chips? Can they re-buy for another $200? What if they are "down" to $190, can they "rebuy" to $390?
