Hello guys. I have experienced tonight and in the last few days big lagging problems while I was playing poker in pokerstars. The software responds hard to some commands, when I'm moved from one poker table to another the new table does not open sometimes I have to wait a lot, also when I want to check the lobby is not updated, it shows me the message "waiting"... i checked if the problems come from my internet connection but this is not the problem, browsing any page works very fast, the problem seems to be somewhere else... could it be from the very high traffic that Pokerstars has during this period and their servers will no longer cope? I suffered this also last night at the beginning of the Cardschat freeroll ... at the beginning of the tournament I was folded in each hand even though my table was open, I was placed sitting out, had to press 100 times on the button as to recover. It's very frustrating does anyone have any idea? has anyone else encountered such problems?
over the last week or so, I have also experienced connection problems where the site simply no longer responds. the only way to solve it is to close the App and restart, but sometimes I need to do this 3 to 4 times consecutively.
I live in Thailand
Well, I read that today they will keep their server, maybe that is why you could not connect although it is already back in my region.
You should bear in mind that many countries are in quarantine, therefore, there is a greater influx of players and not only in pokerStar, that is why the server is saturated and not to mention that the Internet is very slow.
In past 4-5 day the platform is responding very bad, the games freezes and then its de-fazed it shows you a few hand in the past .
I have talk to the internet providers am the speed test it’s ok 80-100 for upload and 200-250MB/sec download.
Does anyone know what’s happening? Any ideas ?
Thanks
most likely this is due to the transition of the platform to the new Aurora engine
I have the same problems, although the computer and the Internet are of excellent quality[emoji57][emoji57][emoji57]
All the sites seem to be having trouble lately. party poker was down for a bit either yesterday or day before. 888 was down weekend before last as well. I’m wondering if their servers are unable the big influx of players during this covid pandemic.

I'm having the same problem. I'm reinstalling the router, 10 min is working very good, then is starting to have lags..... The sites most probably don't want to invest in their platform, because they know that this is a temporary boom. (They should do it, especially stars that is making huge money now).
They take rake only from sunday million 300.000 dollars. Most probably they make several millions dollars every weekend, since their rakeback is almost a zero)
I have been having major latency issues the past weeks, it is also worth to note that the servers are more overcrowded now with the corona issues. I tend to play now more in the morning because it is a nightmare at night.
hello, thanks for this post. I play at PokerStars through a mobile operator, it wasn’t just hanging up, but the server’s work was like in slow motion, I thought there was a problem with the operator, I wanted to change it, but it really seems to be "overpopulated" the site, I'll try to play in the morning. Best regards, Sergei.
Okay, PS, we have a problem here. The lag got quite bad after the big update of the client in March, which gave us the new appearance of the lobby, and IIRC it also forced us to use the new Aurora table graphics. Before that, the start of the client, the login, and the listing of tournaments, used to take just a few seconds. Now, all of these things are very very slow (especially the login), and it may take several minutes during the EU prime time.
Of course, the software change above overlapped with the emergency situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. It makes more sense that the sudden spike of players is the cause, while the software update wasn't related, but the problem escalated rather quickly, right after the update. It's hard to ignore this. Although I like the new UI, I'd rather have the old performance back, which isn't worsened by the connection alone. BTW, another clue that the software may have some effect is the discrepancy between the login time of the desktop client and the one of the mobile client. The latter is usually quite faster, in my experience. For example, once I tried to login thru the desktop client, and after waiting for 8-9 minutes I launched the mobile app and managed to connect in under a minute. A few minutes later I received the message on the desktop client that I'am already connected on another device...
When it comes to the lag at the tables, I don't remember how bad it was in the middle of March, but it was playable during the EU peak hours (~17:00-00:00 GMT). Before that, it was always great, except for the very rare temporary connection drop. In the last week it became absolutely unplayable. In a big portion of the hands, I cannot react at all during my turn. Check these two consecutive hands from the CC FR yesterday:
Pre-Flop: (650) Hero (skaniol) is UTG with A♣ A♥ skaniol (UTG) folds, 3 players fold, MoroccoRocks (CO) raises to 3,512 (all-in), 3 players fold
Total pot: 950
MoroccoRocks (CO) wins 950
... nope, I didn't intend to fold KK and AA preflop. I just watched being dealt these hands, and I even managed to go all-in, but then I saw my timer running down and the hands being folded. Some people even accuse me for acting slow.
Unfortunately, the huge lag during play is present in both the desktop and the mobile clients.
It's hard enough to endure the lag in a game without buy-in, so I avoid risking money, until there is some improvement.
The bad connection appears to be a local problem. Most of the players seem to be doing fine. Otherwise, the outcry would be devastating for PS. When I see people timing out, or people complaining about the bad connection here, here or at other forums, they often come from Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Czechia, and my lag becomes unbearable only at a time when the players from these countries are most likely to be online together, regardless of the overall number of online players. This isn't a coincidence. I wonder what's the full list of affected countries, though.
It's quite possible that PS are victims to the overall worsened net speed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the way they are handling the situation is pretty bad. I don't know about the other countries, but here in Bulgaria and Romania we have pretty decent internet speeds. Yes, the pandemic probably has an effect on the speed during the peak times, but it's not that noticeable. When the PS connection is having a meltdown, my overall internet connection is still quite decent.
In my case, I am just missing the opportunity to take advantage of the bigger fish population 'caused by the pandemic, but some people own tickets, and they are losing big bucks... let's hope the problem will be resolved soon.
Yes have stopped playing on Pokerstars all week since March noticing very sluggish in general lobby not responding properly before or after game start, losing chips regularly on game start up and a complete freeze unable to x out and restart last Sunday morning or able to play a hand in 2x$25 sit and go and 1x$37.50 milly satellite.
Am discussing issues with support sent them mail they asked for log files so sent them log files waiting on further feedback before reload or play there again.
Hoping to feel comfortable playing decent buy in games there again soon as it is one of my favourite sites unsure at the moment though what is causing these problems.

I also feel problems, they are really not so serious, but nevertheless! frequent departure due to the end of the action time, I often do not see my pocket cards! but the other day, PokerStars gave me a gift with a formclip due to communication problems - there were 5$
I'm from Romania and I also experienced this issues on Stars(slow logging in and lagging at the tables, sometimes I can play through it if I have just 1 table open but with multiple tables most of the times it's unplayable... ), hopefully we'll get a new update with a fix for this issues soon...
It's also happening to myself. I don't know what it is. I contacted support they ordered to uninstall and install again. it still continues.:stickyman:banghead:
and i have a problem like you brother i was writing on support but you don't tell me really true trachika is very personal especially after 10 vv lobby show me with over 200k players and i just think i will almost never solve this problem
I had a few problems myself. I can't expect anything else with 300k online.
I did get a free gift off stars for a dollar mind which lasted me four hours lol ..
I had few weeks ago some lost connections issues. and i talked with ps and they told they got fck one of their main servers from isle of man but i think its all good now.
Mine is an internal error (674/1064), when logging on the computer, entering everything normal by cell phone. Can someone help me? Support will take centuries.
After sending log files and changing to their latest graphics Aurora engine lost these 3 games with a crash on the old engine unable to play one hand that worked fine until recently,
Still stressed by it after losing $87.50-$10 goodwill gesture total $77.50 only played Sunday storm and freerolls since mainly.
I suddenly need to study video driver updates for 1 site when works fine everywhere else more stress.
Maybe this info can help somebody who reads it though as system requirements may have been changed without notice by players.

Why? That's the problematic one I am always connected to <; For example, if you are on Windows, you can open the Resource Monitor (Win+R then type resmon and press Enter). Go to the Network tab and look at the top for the Processes with Network Activity. Select the checkbox before "PokerStars.exe" to filter the main process, then you can find the host address in the Network Activity below.
Pictured: the host I am connected to is 77.87.177.97. The various PokerStarsBr.exe represent the embedded browser in the client, while xcw.exe is a casino process (in this case a Diamond Stars slot).
It's likely that all of us experiencing massive lag are connected to the same PokerStars Website host. Are we actually sharing the same server with the one the website is hosted on? This would explain why it's having a meltdown... As you can see in my screenshot, the browser actually visits other hosts, which are content delivery networks (Akamai for sure). This should balance the overall load, but these CDN edge servers still need to get data from the origin...
BTW, while playing yesterday, I found that on a single table the PS.exe was generating around 300 B/s traffic. Whenever the lobby was on focus, thought, it went to 3000 B/s. I guess the real-time update of all these listed tournaments is taxing. Switching to favorites only, or/and minimizing the lobby, helps to reduce the traffic, but I don't know how much it can help when the big lag happens. It certainly wouldn't hurt <; We should practice lobby distancing during these hard times!
I haven't seen Ukrainians or Russians having this problem. Perhaps you are connected to a more stable host.
Regarding the reinstallation, I did a complete uninstall and reinstall. No noticeable improvements. The massive lag was still there around 17:30 GMT (~160K players). Unplayable at the table. Two hours later there are ~260K players and the lag is OK. Go figure. 05:00 GMT the connection is so good I can't tell whether the lag is caused by it, or the bottleneck is the sluggish software.
