The World Poker Tour is again taking the opportunity to prove they value women in poker at its festival coming in December with a $250,000 guaranteed tourney just for them. The $1,100 WPT Ladies Championship takes place at the Wynn in Las Vegas from December 6-8.

The winner is guaranteed a six-figured payday, and their achievement will be live-streamed.

“We greatly appreciate the incredible support of the players who participated in last year’s Ladies Championship and are looking forward to an even bigger event this year,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska in a press release. “We salute the many woman pioneers in this industry and are happy to be part of meaningful events that support our continued admiration.”

Last year’s inaugural WPT Ladies Championship attracted 578 women who generated a $560,660 prize pool. The winner, Lina Niu, cashed $105,136.

Ten seats to the Ladies Championship already have been won through Club WPT and given away at WPT’s Ladies Meet-Up Games — or MUGs.

The give-aways will continue on Dec. 8, with the Ladies Mimosa MUG event. Hosted byJamie Kerstetter, women are invited to play cash for fun and a chance to win some bonuses to go along with the champagne. Starting at 9 a.m. and running until noon, 19 splash pot prizes will be awarded with the prizes ranging from gift bags to $1,100 WPT Prime seats.

Last’s year Mimosa MUG saw 150 players.

The day before (Dec. 7), an invitation-only viewing party will be held in the WPT VIP Passport Lounge where all four televised episodes of the 2022 WPT Ladies Championship will be shown to select members of Poker League of Nations (PLON), Poker Power, Women’s Poker Association (WPA) and Women in Poker Hall of Fame (WiPHoF).

The WPT Ladies Championship is part of the WPT Championship festival at the Wynn that is running from Nov. 29 to Dec, 23. As well as a full slate for tournaments with buy-ins ranging from the $600 opener to the $1 million WPT Big Drop, it will stream several “creator” and high stakes cash games. The full schedule is here.

The crown jewel of the festival is the $10,400 WPT World Championship, which has the mind-boggling and record-setting $40 million guaranteed prize pool. It starts Dec. 12.

Three high roller events are on the schedule: A $25,700 event on Dec. 17, the $50,000 WPT Alpha 8 on Dec. 20, and the $1 million WPT Big One for One Drop on Dec. 18. A handful of players already committed to the Big One.

The WPT will again take over AREA51, the unique Las Vegas entertainment and party venue that is more of an interactive art exhibit than discotheque, and gives its players a night to remember.

The players party is restricted to those who registered or played in the WPT World Championship, the WPT Prime Championship, or the WPT Ladies Championship, as well as friends of the WPT.

It takes place Dec. 11, from 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. A day later, many of those partiers will be playing in the WPT World Championship.

DJs Fergie, Max Styler, Sub Zero and LEFIH will provide the entertainment, and there will be an open bar and food. Transportation from Wynn to AREA15 every 30 minutes will be provided.
