Time to Fly the COOP: PokerStars’ North America Championship of Online Poker Schedule Is Out

3 min read

PokerStars is making September sizzle with the North American Championship of Online Poker, which will run in several markets the United States and Canada starting Sept. 15.

With 7 million in guarantees across three jurisdictions, plenty of poker players in Ontario, Pennsylvania, and the shared market of Michigan and New Jersey will turn their fall in gold.

There are actually three different “coops” running in the States (plus Ontario) from Sept. 15 to Oct. 2. The USCOOP takes place in the shared market of New Jersey and Michigan. It has 89 tournaments with buy-ins from $10 to $2,500 with $3 million in guarantees scheduled.

In Pennsylvania, players will click on the “PACOOP” bar to find listings for another 89 tourneys, but with a half-mill less in guarantees. And in the Canadian Province of Ontario, there’s the — you guessed it — ONCOOP with 137 tourneys scheduled with $1.5 million (U.S. dollars) in promises.

Included in those 315 tourneys are 61 “championship” events that award trophies with their top prices.

The winners of each of the COOP’s Main Events will not only win the lion’s share of the largest guarantees of the series and a trophy, but also a PokerStars North American Poker Tour Gold Pass worth $20,300. The package consists of:

  • Seat in the $5,300 NAPT Las Vegas High Roller Nov. 10-12
  • Three-day pass for two (November 16-18) for Oracle Red Bull Racing Fan Experience in Las
    Vegas
  • Nine nights hotel accommodation for two from Nov. 10-19, at Resorts World Las Vegas,
    including taxes and resort fees.
  • $4,000 towards flights and expenses.

PokerStars is restarting its NAPT in Vegas, which will see three tourneys: $1,650 Headliner, Nov. 6-11,; $550 PokerStars Cup, Nov. 9-12; and the $5,300 High Roller, Nov. 10-12. It takes place during the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, which was responsible for all the traffic problems during the World Series of Poker because the Strip is part of the race course and needed to be made perfectly smooth.

PokerStars is one of the sponsors of the Oracle/Red Bull car.

Players who make a deposit of $50 or more using the promo code COOP2023 will also receive entry into a freeroll where 50 main event seats will be won. Check out the local clients for more information.

Global COOP series starts Friday

Poker players in the rest of the globe where PokerStars can be accessed have a championship series of their own to look forward to — the massive $80 million guaranteed WCOOP (you can guess was the “w” stands for).

That includes players who don’t live in Ontario, because the rest of Canada has access to PokerStars’ global site.

PokerStars has been running Championship Of Online Poker series since 2002.
