The ongoing sit & go war between Partypoker and PokerStars has taken another twist this week thanks to a new $1,500 cash giveaway from the former.

Going live on March 18, “SPINSTORM” will give players the chance to win up to $1,500 in real money. Designed to shine a light on the recently rebranded “SPINS” tournaments, the promotion is open to all players and will run until April 21.

Points for SPINS at Partypoker

By taking part in the three-handed lottery-style tournaments, players will earn cashback points. By earning a single point on five separate days, spins’ters will receive one ticket for a $2,000 freeroll.

Beyond that, earning 30 points on five separate days will unlock additional tickets, while scoring at least 25 points for 30 days will yield a $25 return.

For those who bank 500 points playing SPINS for five or more days, cash prizes ranging from $125 to $1,500 are the reward.

While the promotion on its own may not be newsworthy, it plays into a larger narrative that involves Partypoker and its closest rival, PokerStars. With the two operators going tit-for-tat since the end of 2018, players have been given access to host of extra value.

The genesis of the rivalry can be traced back to Partypoker’s Millions Online. Taking place in December, the online MTT not only exceeded its $20 million guarantee but became the largest event of its kind.

Stealing the record for the richest online poker tournament in history, Millions Online was seen as a major coup for Partypoker. Not one to take losing a record lightly, PokerStars responded with a Christmas schedule packed with $85 million in guaranteed value.

Partypoker vs. PokerStars Innovation War Continues

As 2019 dawned, sit & go tournaments became the new battleground.

Partypoker drew first blood by promising to make a millionaire via a $5 SPINS event. It doubled down on that innovation just a few days later by launching a $2 million showdown.

By raising the bar once again, the SPINS tournament doubled the largest Spin & Go jackpot available at PokerStars. However, it was all change again in March when a limited edition $3 million Spin & Go went.

Adding to this, PokerStars has since used its high-octane tournaments as qualifiers for the forthcoming $10 million Sunday Million.

Looking to strike back, Partypoker is now banking on SPINSTORM to drive custom away from PokerStars and towards its own games.

For players, the ongoing battle for sit & go supremacy is not only entertaining but lucrative. As the one-upmanship continues, more money is being added to the mix, giving everyone access to increased value across the board.
