The tournament team at WSOP HQ isn’t letting the grass grow under their feet. Following another record-breaking WSOP in Las Vegas, they’ve prepared another online series in conjunction with their official partner, GGPoker.

The 2023 WSOP Online is set to payout at more than $50 million in prize money. That money will be spread across 33 MTTs which, as ever, will furnish the winners with a coveted WSOP bracelet. The action will take place on GGPoker and players can buy into bracelet events directly from as little as $100.

Of course, in the spirit of making WSOP bracelets accessible to as many players as possible, GGPoker will be running a plethora of satellites, as well as an innovative series of “continental” freerolls.

Over $50 million to play for in 2023 WSOP Online

The 2023 WSOP Online gets underway on August 20. Topping the bill is a $5,000 main event with a $25 million guaranteed prizepool. For those who can’t justify spending $5,000 on a poker tournament, GGPoker will also be hosting a $500 mini main event with a $2.5 million guarantee.

Another tournament that should pique the interests of high rollers is the WSOP Online edition of GGMillion$. The $10,300 event will bring the WSOP Online series to a close on October 2 with a $10 million guaranteed showdown. Other highlights on this year’s WSOP Online schedule are the $1,500 Millionaire Maker, $300 Gladiators of Poker, and $100 Flip & Go offering a $1 million guaranteed prizepool.

Overall, the 2023 WSOP Online schedule is a diverse one. The combination of high, medium, and low stakes events means there’s something for players at all levels. Add to this a selection of satellites and it’s another great opportunity for players with access to GGPoker’s international network to become a WSOP champion.

Continental freeroll championship

Perhaps the most interesting additions to the WSOP Online schedule are Continental Freerolls. There will be 33 Continental Freerolls and each one will be connected to a WSOP Online bracelet event. GGPoker is putting up $2 million worth of prizes, but entry to each freeroll is dependent on you and your continent. Specifically, the rules governing these freerolls are:

  • You will be assigned to one of four continents – Americas, Europe, Mediterranean and Asia Pacific – based on your nationality/location.
  • You need to enter a WSOP Online event to be in with a chance of playing the associated freeroll.
  • All players who’ve met the entry conditions will be put on standby pending the outcome of the associated WSOP Online event.
  • If a player from your continent wins the WSOP Online event and you’ve met the entry conditions, you get to play in the freeroll.

Continental Freerolls have prizepools made up of packages and tournament dollars. What’s more, the top-ranking Continental Freeroll player from each region will win a $35,000 WSOP Paradise package.

Watch WSOP Online live via GGPoker.TV

For a final sprinkling of sparkle, live streams of marquee MTTs, including the WSOP Online Main Event, will be shown on GGPoker.TV. As well as live coverage, there will be play-by-play commentary from GGPoker Ambassadors, Jeff Gross and Ali Nejad.

Coming off the back of a record-breaking WSOP in Las Vegas, GGPoker needed to do something big with the latest online series and it’s certainly done that. Indeed, as GGPoker flagbearer Daniel Negreanu said in this week’s press release, the series will “captivate” players around the world and provide a “truly unforgettable poker experience.”
