Hello! I just created a thread talking about the micromillions and I kept thinking about the structure of the tournaments in general. I would like to know what is the structure for you where you feel most comfortable. I begin:

Number of chips at the beginning: 20 BB
The blinds go up every: 15 minutes
Number of players: as much as possible no more than 300
Late registration: hopefully one hour, but at the moment that seems impossible, so I'm lucky if I get something of an hour and a half
Number of players per table: indifferent, although 6 is a pleasant number.

Well, I think that's all. I invite you to share your personal preferences

Sounds like you and I are pretty much opposites lol. As primarily a cash game player I like long and deep tournament structures. The wsop Main Event is the ultimate example of this in my opinion. 2 hour levels and 300 BB starting stack are insane. On day 4 there were still 100 - 200 BB stacks in big hands with each other.

I like these format for two major reasons. First, as a cash game player it's more similar to cash so I make less mistakes and some tournament players who aren't used to playing deep will make more mistakes. Second, with deeper stacks and longer levels it's easier to recover from losing a big hand and there's much more maneuverability before you get down to pre flop shove chart poker where many times you're flipping a coin over and over potentially for several thousand dollars. In my opinion people will make less mistakes in general once the blinds increase to the level where everyone is short stacked decreasing any advantage one player has over another.

I don't have ton of short handed experience so I'd prefer 6-9 players per table. One re-buy is fine to calm down the shove fests that unlimited re-buys can cause. Late registration isn't much a factor for me since the new players are coming in with a starting stack in later blind levels which puts them at a disadvantage and increases the prize pool for everyone.

Obviously the issue with these preferences are having enough time to spend playing. For single day tournaments I haven't found anything longer than 30 minute levels and I plan to try that in the next month or so. I did play the WSOP Big 50 however and loved that format with 50 minute levels and 250 BB to start.

I don't like spending most of a day in front of my computer so I prefer shorter MTTs with registration periods of no more than an hour. Generally tournaments with a one hour reg have blinds changing every 10 minutes or less. I'm happy with 5-8 minute levels so play will usually wind up in about 3 hours. Then I still have time for a nap before dinner :)

To sit down at the table you need to choose the right tournament. For beginners, they are all the same, only the price is different. I pay attention to the starting stack, the initial level of blinds, changes in levels, their duration. With your initial stack of 20 BB, you can only stick to the strategy of push-fold, there is no place for maneuver. For me, the tournament should be held at a certain pace, allowing to gain an advantage over weaker players, so the tournament with a deep structure is more interesting.

150бб starting stack,
levels 10 minutes continuous lift structure levels,
late registration is like 2 hours.
I like the old structure of tournaments, because so your game depends more on skill than on luck.

For me, I like events under 200 players with maybe 20 miniuts of late registration and it should be a no rebuy/re entry. I would like deeper stacks 150BB to start and 10 Minuit levels. If the tournament ends in 3 to 3.5 hours, its just right. While I do love longer ones, I have a job and kids and its rare I can play these. I am playing less and less due to the 2+ hours late entry events.

Hi good day.
I like the Deep stack of 200bb tournaments, because I feel more comfortable playing them, since the blinds do not press too much like in other tournaments.
I prefer blind increases every 12 minutes for the first levels, and then 15 minutes for the next ones.
In terms of the number of players, up to 500 are very attractive to me.
The late registration is a variable that I do not have much in mind, because I like to play a tournament from the beginning and my registration is rarely late.
I also look at the prize structure. I usually choose tournaments where 20-25% of the total players benefit.
In tournaments I like that the tables are of 9 players or of 8 also.
Tables of 6 players I like to play in cash games.
Greetings.

I play live tournaments, which move slower than online ones. So, I prefer a starting stack of around 200BB and 25-30 minute levels. I'd like registration to end by the 3rd or 4th level, but the casino where I play has very long registration periods into levels 8-12, depending on the tournament. I don't care for that since it makes the early levels wilder than they should be, but that's one thing I just have to deal with. :(

I made a typing mistake, I meant starting with 200 BB. I have not seen tournaments where they start with 20 haha

I try to like deepstack and the bigger the time of a timelevel is the more i prefer it because in this type your skill effect more. I hate hyper games because its more about allins, turbo is still ok for me.

I prefer freezeout tournaments, 10 to 15 minutes of blinds, 3000 initial stacks, more than 300 players.
But Turbo tournaments are also nice for me.

The number of chips for me does not matter, but I prefer tournaments where the blinds go up every 10-15 minutes. Late registration is no more than one hour. And the number of players at the table is not less than six. For me it is ideal conditions.

I love tournaments in which blinds grow every 8-10 minutes, starting stack 50-100 BB, and without late registration. A variety of tournaments does not matter, the main thing is that they were not turbo and not hyper-turbo tournaments. I do not like to hurry in poker, I like to think and make well-considered decisions. The tactics of the game depends on the structure of the tournament, everyone chooses tournaments in which it is comfortable.

I don't like the 15 minute levels.
The game spins a little more than 10 minutes.
20 BB for late entry?
Because I think little is 20 BB.
300 starters on the Micromillions I think are few.
I have no other comment.
Good luck friend!

I like playing games at 400 player max turbo. the game lasts less long. I have a rather aggressive style of play. I also like to play MTT bounty to earn bonuses. when the depard stack is important. it's easier to handle those losses.

I started out on the turbo sit n go's but toward the end of the Tournament seemed like u had to go all in every hand and it boiled down to pure luck.

I've switched over to Tournaments where the Blinds go up at a more normal speed and you get to Duke it out with everybody:boxing:

Unfortunately there are hours of rebuy opportunities.
