Early in a deep stack tournament one player is dealt pocket JJ and another pocket AA. The flop come blank, blank J. AA bets and trip J's goes all in. For some unknown reason the dealer mucks all the cards, I guess thinking the hand is over? After some yelling the tournament director comes over and decides to put the cards back out on the board and shuffle the remaining cards and continue the hand. An A comes on the river and trip J's is out of the tourney. He leaves fuming. Was this handled correctly?

Your question is kind of open-ended
Was it handled correctly by the player?
Was it handled correctly by the dealer?
Was it handled correctly by the tournament director?

1] The player had all the right in the world to complain.
2] The dealer kind of messed up on this one.
3] Who are we to question the rules at any given tournament?

My question was to how the TD handled it. Players and dealer had no say.

What else could he have done? I think correct solution, dealer needs to be fired, though!:hahaha:

My opinion is that it should have been a chopped pot. Something that braindead shouldn't be played out.

I agree with Jonathon. Chop that pot. That's what we do in home games when a mistake is made.

I also agree it should've been a chopped pot. TD messed up and now it's unfair for both players.

I think it was necessary to divide the bank into two players.

This is how it is supposed to be handled. Happened a lot at the WOSP and Planet Hollywood this year.

Dealers were mucking the cards when they shouldn't?

Splitting the pot is normal. Whats not normal is how frequent it is happening.
