So, I've found a outlet for live poke here. It is a freerolll and pays 30 dollars to second and 70 to first. The idea is to encourage people to buy food at bars. I'm debating grinding these to build a bankroll for online play. Any thoughts? I need to learn body language to really succeed at this. But most of the crowd are amateurs.
These have a pretty turbo structure and really loose play so the variance will be high. If your doing it for the social interaction and to get used to live play, they're a fine introduction. If you're looking for a better winrate than you're online grind then they're not very good.
good initiative you invest 100 $ in prize to motivate to the players while they spend in drink food, 'I think that to the players one has to hook them and to be attractive some prizes, I assure you that you will be successful, begins with 100 dollars then you do low entry tournaments and then see how people are hooked in your bar
I attended one of these. It was a 20 table group, came in fourth or fifth. Pushed all in with a big stack to steal blinds with kq and got called down with a6. It was a loose crazy table. My reads were good enough I nearly tripled my stack though. I picked up on weakness and folded correctly till that push. I really think i like live more. Reading becomes possible and people fold more due to the humiliation of being embarresed. One guy check called checkd so i pushed him all in when a king came up. He probably had mid. Made another guy fold to a ace who probably has a Jack. There was one tag player with pocket fives, i had 22. I pushed her all in with high card a 8 on the board. I knew she either hit the 8, had a small pocket, or two overs. So it's a hard spot to call. She kept acting like she was drawing, so I ruled out a monster hand.
