his small 100 bet into the pot on the turn seems weak to me strong sign of a fishy player i definitely would think i was ahead at that stage, in the same situation i'd raise big on the river for value, possibly shove

Honestly at the time I was worried that if I jammed he'd fold whatever hand he had and I'd end up killing value.

depends on what kind of hand you think he has, you'd probably get a call from something like ak, aq if you shoved, if you think he has a busted flush draw its going to be hard to extract value no matter what you do, so its probably best to bet big and hope he has something good enough to call with if you think he has a big hand otherwise bet smaller! from the way he played the hand i'm guessing he had the flush draw or maybe an ace with a low kicker, out of interest did it go to showdown?
