How many times have I caught myself getting into the hand for a big knockout with a short stack. After that, I was very sorry and lost concentration, am I the only one? Is it worth it to call a short stack, but with a big knockout, while having an average hand ?

No, at the late stage of the tournament the chips have more value than the bounty. But I'm like you, I like to gamble when there is a big bounty prize, that's why we love the KOs mtts.

These tournaments are very interesting and unpredictable. In your case, everything depends on the hand you are dealt and the money you can win by knocking out your opponent. If you have a large stack, it's better not to ignore suited A5-A9 hands, but when you have a short stack, you need to play carefully and wait for a good hand.

What would be an average hand to you? A big KO with a short stack is prime target in PKO. I would chase them everytime I have a decent hand and importantly decent stack. :)

if this is a late stage, it's better to leave chips because they are valuable than a knockout, well, unless they give a lot of money for a person, you can call and you shouldn't

It's normal and the worst thing is when boredom sets in and you're already in the advanced stages of the tournament

Always consider the pot odds, your position, and the tendencies of your opponents before making a decision.

Calling with an average hand just for the chance of a big knockout may not be the most profitable play in the long run...

You need to be mentally stable and try to play with your head

There is a whole math thing with starting stack, bounty value etc. I'll see if I can find it :)

Hi,
I think that in the PKO tourneys you need to widen your range.
For really short stacks and the opportunity to be the last and only caller when they shove, I would call with any 2.
I am sure that you would find the right answer in the comments or in the many poker courses allover the internet.

That's right, on the basis of mathematics, it is necessary to estimate approximately which action will be more profitable ...

Dara O'Kerney is a great specialist in this matter! He even has some books on such tournaments! In this section there is his topic in which you can ask such a question to him directly:

I think it is worth it as long as the risk is not too much, for example: there is something that I have seen a lot in this type of tournament and it is that everyone wants the bounty of the one with the least chip because they are the weakest, easy prey or because It does not involve investing a lot, but what happens since many want that bounty they bet everything with any card to try to win it and in my opinion that is a serious mistake, you should not sacrifice so much for little (of course it depends on the price of the bounty) but if you are going to sacrificing a lot of chips and then being left with nothing or very few chips is not worth it

I love this kind of tournament. As long as the amount of chips of the villain is less than yours it is extremely valid to risk a little more. Also because you can guarantee the value of a possible re-entry.

You have to analyze if it is +EV. I believe it is most often with a great reward.
