Patience is bliss. I get ITM most of the time when I care and don't take chances and mostly it is just min cash. I rarely get final tables and only won a couple of times but many 3-7 places. I'm only a mediocre player, playing nanostakes (at least it feels nano). Tight, aggressive and passive, but cautious. Extremely tight sometimes. One thing I learned in a few hundred tournaments. I don't need to be a big stack to get a final table and I have made a final table, being a microstack all the way. Played happily with 0.3 - 0.8 big blinds. Of course, no one recommends it but it works for me. I don't know if it works further up the road from $5 buy in, but up to $5, it worked for me. Surely, I could play any other way and I sometimes do loosen up and take risks and chances and it also works. But most of the time, I like easy decisions, good investment opportunities and no stress. Speculative play is only for when I'm 100% focused and I have a decent amount of knowledge about the other players. Most importantly, I do not like to gamble, but I do like to calculate, influence and tell stories.
Oh, and try the course on Cardschat, it's lovely. Won't make you win but may make you question your decisions. And it's free.
10 out of 360, if not money wasted than time, for sure So you may be better off investing that time into acquiring knowledge. After all, knowledgte is power, when put to good use, of course.
Hope it helps.
