This is a discussion on Hand analysis within the online poker forums, in the Tournament Poker section; We must learn to fold at the poker table, but it is not easy to give up pre-flop hands.
Example: I'm in UTG3 position, with
that is easy fold. UTG is pushing 24bb, lets imagine he is pushing 88+, AJ+, KQ which is a stretch, even in this scenario you are in very bad shape against his range. Basically, you almost never will dominate his hand, but a lot of time will be dominated 80/20. I would start to think about calling with TT, and even with TT I am inclined towards fold, because of how many players are left behind.
unless I am the one who raised first with AA and get re-raised, I don't go all-in beginning stages of tournament. too many cards out there trying to grab a piece of the board. don't like calling all-ins, prefer to be the aggressor. and, of course, aces don't mean squat till the river is down.
