This is a discussion on Folded Hands within the online poker forums, in the Tournament Poker section; Question?
On average how many hands do you think you fold in an average freeroll tournament? I'm curious if anyone else has this issue
It really depends on your play style, the table dynamics, and how many playable hands/situations you are involved in. For a very rough estimate I'd say I'm folding around 70-80% of hands, hitting both spectrums regularly depending on the variables above.
I don't keep track.
But using starting hands 15-35% is 'normal'.
With luck (or fishy/nitty table) it can be a bit higher.
Even with bad luck usually you can find spots to play some 10% (with ANY cards).
Similar to most responses. I probably fold about 70%. Sometimes I will mix it up a bit and play the odd junk hand, depending on position. I am just about ready to start folding pocket Jacks. Worthless every time. hahahhaa
I actually fold a lot less in most freerolls. Unless it's like stupid situations , but like the ACr freerolls I folded almost never because I honestly dont care . In CC freerolls I play it like an actual tourney because the players in them actually want to play poker and not just all in or nothing
Fold??? Fold in a freeroll tournament??? Are you kidding? You got to be in it to win it!!! I have never folded any hand in a freeroll tournament. And I have a feeling, although it hasn't happened yet, I have a feeling that one of these days I will still have chips past the first orbit. Ta ta.
