First live tournament

Played my first live tourney the other day at a local casino ($70 dollar buy-in). 4,000 starting chips, no add-ons, and rebuys and late entries for up to an hour. Starting the tournament off I do pretty well and I'm up to around 7,000 chips, leading my table. So here's my question, I'm in the bb and get AdKd and get raised to 1,300, obviously a reraise situation but I just call. Flop comes 3dAsQd and the villain shoves all in with around 3,500 left. I snapcall hoping for the flush draw and hoping top pair top kicker will hold, and he shows AQo. A diamond comes on the turn and I figure I've won the hand and as he stands up to leave a queen comes on the river, giving him a boat. Was this a good call on my part or should I have folded?

In case you don't want to read this:
Hero: AdKd
Villain: AQo

Flop: 3dAsQd
Turn: xd
River: Qx

Good or bad play on my part? I feel like i just got sucked out on

It is a call. If you call AdKd pre that is one of the flops (3dAsQd) you are looking for.

Its a great board for both hands, so not too surprising that you both stacked it.

Probably should shove preflop is App I would say since you're putting in about 20% of your stack anyway. What happens if no A or diamonds come?

He show you lot of stenght with is allin but in that situation you have decide your tourney on a flush draw posibility. In the net is a easy call but in live situation , in this hand you dont have the lead after the flop. I will probably muck my hand after the flop. If you bet or raise the pot He will prbably go allin anyway so. Allin in tournement if you dont want to be brock you need had the nuts. that my 2 c

I mean I hit an ace on the flop, how was I going to put him on 2 pair or AQ? It's hard to fold an ace with top kicker in that situation imo

You were getting it in on the turn anyway so just one of those things that happens in this game, they find their outs and you get wrecked.

Standard for both hands, it played its' self, it's the early stages of a rebuy most definately nothing else to do here.

Cooler hands on a cooler flop no way you or opponent can get away . It is poker it happens sometimes.

The only thing I can say that is I would have done different is 3 bet preflop being OOP. Would not have made any difference to outcome though all the money was still going in the middle.

Selective memory because of a cooler.

Also what were the blind sizes? Honestly could of just got it all in pre and receive the same results.

Good play, bad results. Just make sure that you aren't thinking about it when you play your next tournament... don't want to end up playing timid and make the wrong play next time.

good call, but nevertheless in this hand i would probably go all in preflop with ak of diamonds. i think villain would just called the all in preflop so the result would be the same.

I think you played it right. Villian could have held other hands than AQ. If villain was a super tight player you might have thought there was a possibility of a set or 2 pair, more than if facing same raise from a loose player, but still v hard to fold your hand.

Reset map in this case is very difficult. I would support Allin in such a situation.

what are you talking about. please dont talk nonsense, he has a monster on flop, TPTK + nut flush draw , even against AQ he has 12 outs=around 45-50%.

you had very bad preflop play, flating out of position is awful especialy with pot size where you cant check raise or do anything, what were the blinds anyway 200/400 ?
