This is a discussion on Firing a turn barrel within the online poker forums, in the Tournament Poker section; How often after cbetting should u turn barrel with nothing or should you only do it with a semi bluff as you still have some
It's going to depend, a big part of deciding to barrel the turn would depend on the turn card and if it connects with your perceived range.
For example if you cbet a flop of 259 and get called and the turn is an A/K/Q then its a great scare card to fire a 2nd barrel because as a preflop raiser your perceived range will often be high value cards and if the opponent did have a piece of the flop then they would now figure they are behind.

Will add to it that playing suited and connecting cards are great because it gives you the chance to double barrel with outs... for example you have 78cc and raise pre, the flop comes K52 one club... you bet and get called... you can barrel any club 4 or 9 as a bluff...
