Many professionals like Daniel Negreanu on your Stream and play. They leave the cursor on the discarded cards. I also think that this is not a good habit. Constantly look at the stack sizes in tournaments and watch their discarded cards.

depends, if you are in a good position and with connected cards or ss, it can be a good give shek, most times this is not good but in several cases yes like the button or BB​

Watching how the players play is much more important. You want to see who is bluffing, or is playing strong hands slow, and who utilizes position more.
