I'm normally a cash game player, but lately I've made several deep runs in tournaments. Last night I got 11 out of around 1000 in a $6 bounty. I guess I've established a few principles in my strategy, feel free to comment on them.

I spent the vast majority of the tournament with an M of around 6.

-The overall goal is survival.
-Patience is key.
-Stay away from unnecessary entanglements. Stealing is tempting when the blinds are high, but people will call you with hands like A8 or KQ. I guess this is more directed to me since I spent the majority of the tournament with an average/short stack.
-Play extremely tight.
-Do not let your M get lower than 3.

So feel free to comment, how does your strategy compare? Mine was really just a series of premium double up hands until the late stages.

It did suck that I got out 11th. Prizes got much bigger at the final table.

Blinds were like 2500/5000 and I had 32000 with an ante, there's 6 of us at the table (I'm the SS) and it folds around to me in the SB with A5s and I shove, she calls with KQ and hits the Q. Do you think this was too aggressive?
