I don't think anything happens by chance.
You need a buy-in to win the WCOOP tournament.
In addition, there are a very large participants in such tournaments, and this further reduces the likelihood of an accidental victory.

interesting question, I think it could be extended to any big tournament, if here there is a winner of wcoop, micromillions, sunday or whatever

I believe last year or so some cardchatter finished 3rd in some 250€ bounty game for 2 consecutive months winning like 5-6k doing so

Also earlier this year one other person won some live tournament package or whatever it was ...

Therefore (even if not wcoop) cardchatter having success in some ´prestige´ tournament is definitely possible ...
