Yep. Unless you hit on the flop, fold them. Fold even before the flop, if you have a small stack or it`s too expensive.

It depends on the size of your chips, if it si big you can enter from utg by open raise.If you are in late positions you can enter and see if you connect the set.

because the odds of trips are 8-1, you obviously want to get in cheap, OR with good pot odds to begin with, 4 people see the flop vs 2, etc. Once you hit the trips, you are trapping basically, so being in position helps to get paid. OOP you are forced to be out on each street, smart player will read you as being strong for sure.

Final word for me is I want pot odds and position to play these. Remember, you are never far ahead with these type hands unless you have 4's and your Opp. has 3's!!!


Last thought. Playing them early in MTTs is good because the blinds are low compared to your stack, so you are deep stacked in effect.
