What are the various considerations when negotiating a deal to chop the top money in a tournament?
In a recent finish we were down to the final 3. One player put a lot of weight to ICM(independent chip model). I'd heard about it many years ago, but I didn't know much about it. I was the short stack by about 3:1 vs the other two who each had about the same chip stacks. I ended up accepting a deal which gave me nearly 2nd place money, with the other two getting a few hundred less than 1st place money. It seemed reasonable to me.
What experiences have others had with negotiating a chop? Any advice for the future?
