it seems like this happened at the beginning of the tournament, I don't like playing out of position with AJ after a re-raise preflop
but if I played I would for sure bet high in the turn, and hope for vilan to fold, (like I say AJ is not so good in this spot) your line is ok, but unlucky in the river card

Turning a pair into a bluff is kind of fancy, and I am not sure, it will work all that well in general in a 3$ tournament. You have some showdown value, so I prefer to check and hope, he give up and check back with A high or 77-88. It was obviously a lucky river card for him, but had he not improved, your hand would have been good, so there was no need for bluffing, and its way to thin to bet for value.

Neither do I, but this was an undersized 3-bet. We are calling 245 to win 985, so we only need to win it 25% of the time. This also mean, its ok to just give up on the flop a lot. The same concept apply, when you defend your big blind against a mini-raise.

I dont think, we can fold to a small C-bet, when we flopped a pair. He can be C-betting a lot of A high, or as in this case an 88-TT type hand. We do block some value hands also like AA, JJ and AK.
