You dont have fold equity with a stack this short, and then A5s simply does not have enough equity to get it in for your tournament life. I plugged your hand into ICMizer telling the program, it was a 45 man with 12 people left, and then your jamming range is only 44+, A9+, A8s, KQ and KJs. You cant really call from SB with a stack this short, so folding was for sure the right play.

Your best option is that situation is to fold. YOu need a better hand to risk tourney life.
