Hello there,

I am an NL2 rec player on pokerstars and I don't play many hands, around 10k per month. I used all the HUD trials and now it is time to buy one of these. If I do buy one, it will cost 1/3 of my bankroll and I will be able to play pretty much only on stars.

I am debating if it is worth it to buy the hud. Would it be better to keep the money, withdraw my balance from stars and play somewhere else like GGPoker and learn to play without a hud?

The huds helped me a lot playing on stars but I feel that it will get a lot harder to make a decent winning in stars as I will move up to higher limits.

What do you think I should do?

Thanks

I love mine, I have PT4 .. it has made a huge difference in how I see things .. perhaps more important than the actual HUD are the things you can do later such as making analysis of hand histories .. I personally find it must have for that one reason alone and the HUD stats are also amazing to have use of ....

It only works for me on 2 sites I am in the US and poker sites I can use are limited ..... all that being said I have an anonymous site I play and I love it there simply because of the fishy player pool and I do ok there too ... I think that using that HUD on other sites makes you more aware of what happens in game even on an anonymous site, and I feel over all it has generally helped my play on any site and at real casinos too....

I do not think the cost is even an issue and I feel that most will recoup that in short order .. a lot of people think it is cheating and gives an unfair advantage .. to which I say it most certainly does give an unfair advantage .... and it is available for anyone that uses one and takes the time to learn what it can do ... it is legal and allowed at certain sites so I will use it until it becomes not legal ?

Just one last thought I would not stop playing somewhere based on them allowing or disallowing a HUD .. I feel it is good practice and you can take what you learned when you were able to use it and apply it at sites you cannot use it, and it will help you to be a better poker player at all sites ...so my opinion : )

IMHO the data in cash games are super useful , you may be able to play a MTT without a HUD but for the meta game analysis, first and foremost to fix your leaks, is super important. It helps you keep track of your winnings\losings plus no one can keep track of the thousand hands he has played without that tool.

I am a PT4 user but I don't know the pricing for some other HUDs nowadays.I believe since the HUD helps your game continue with it and since you are a profitable player you will rebuild your 1/3 bankroll you will spend for the purchase. Some HUDs offer micro stakes edition which costs around $50-$60 but I am not here to advertise you anything , just google it.

Good Luck :)

Good luck , I think you will find the HUD super helpful in the long term.

Especially in the reviewing part and the tracking of your overall performance!
