Anyone else unable to make player notes on 888?

Every time I double click a player to make notes, the note window fails to appear. I hover over my internet symbol and just see the thinking swirling away and no notes pop up appears. This has been going on for days.

I have had numerous problems with notes on 888. They frequently change colours randomly, Yellow becomes Green and Red becomes Orange. Recently, all my notes (thousands) simply disappeared.

I contacted Customer Service about the colour changes once. They figured it out, fixed it, and said that they gave me a freeroll ticket for the inconvenience. I never could find the ticket, and the colour change problem returned. The problems seem to pop up after updates. I now just manually change the colours back (it's a full time occupation).

Recently, all my notes disappeared. I decided that this was reason enough to contact CS again. It took a while (over a week), but their response was that they didn't support the notes feature. I believe they suggested that I copy all notes to a separate file - or save all notes in their current file EVERY TIME I PLAYED ON 888. After a few weeks, the notes reappeared (with wrong colours). I took this as a win.

Since then, the only notes problem that I have had is an inability to get the notes feature to pop up when I double click a player in the top two seats of a nine person table (I'm always at the bottom of my tables). My solution for tables that I was on was to change my seat so that I could edit notes on everyone at the table. For players on tables other than the one I was playing on, it took me a while, but I found a sweet spot that allowed the notes box to pop up. I had to double click the "neck" area (and ONLY the neck area) of the avatars on the top row.

From your description of your problem, I don't think I have experienced this before. I look forward to problems the next time I play on 888.

As previous poster say, notes on 888 will regularly disappear, when the client crash, so best to just forget about them and not waste your time. If notes are really important to you, then play elsewhere. If not then consider getting a tracker / HUD, since 888 allow these.

in my opinion the note feature on 888 is very bad. it fails a lot of times when you doubleclick on the player, you almost have to hit exactly that one point, otherwise the window not opens.

they still have a lot of work to do with their new software and also with the application where its still not possible to turn off avatars and have some better sound settings.

That's a joke, how can they not support notes when it's part of their software. Interestingly I found I could add the note if I opened the replay window and did it from that although you cannot do that if knocked out.

I am getting fed up with software issues on 888 though. At the end of the day it's not a computer game, they have a responsibility for software that works as this costs players money. I was in an $11 today that looked like it had frozen but wasn't as I could chat (although the chat when I typed came out another players mouth on the table) but no hands were being dealt so sat there for 10 mins then closed the table and reopened it to find I had lost a load of hands and blinds and had carrid on for others. There are numerous other times I have had software issues. A lot of people moan about pokerstars but I never get these sort of glitches there. If doing well in the tourney it can make a massive difference to the eventual pay out. I stopped playing the more pricey games because of their issues.

You must have amazing patience to keep redoing the colour coding!

Hud may be the way to go although don't think you can tell if its your notes or system notes by the indicator but may be the way to go, especially with the issues mile end has had.

Well it has some of the best promotions but the software is a paramount thing that underpins everything. The 4th table I was on had black blobs blocking sight of the cards. I'm scared of viewing other tables near the bubble in case it crashes.

I may try reinstalling the software, rarely works with the issues on 888 and why on earth does this software have so may issues with various anti-virus software?

to open a window with notes, you need to click 2 times just above the nickname, when there are no cards

The top couple positions on the table won't open for me ever.

The way I am able to open them is to open the HandHistory Replayer... and then size it quite large (seem to have to make it fairly big for it to work). Now the player will open for notes.
It's just in the positions on the top of the table.

I cannot open any position except in the re-player and risk crashing the software as if I hover over the task bar there are a series of windows for each player I have clicked on trying to load with a thinking swirl but I am going to start another thread with other technical issues I am having there. I had just started playing on the site quite a bit but am having enough now.

fwiw, I have zero issues on 888poker with how the software runs for me (except for the fk'n player notes). Notes don't 'disappear' on me either.

I have had some extremely bizarre issues some of which have been quite costly which is making it hard for me to keep investing on the site. I have stopped generally playing tournaments there over $33 due tot he issues I have had. Although heard others say they have had no issues. But the notes thing is a an obvious bug too.

This sounds terrible. I hate playing on sites once you've lost confidence in them.

I try not to let bad beats tilt me and think I do pretty well most of the time, however it is difficult to keep your emotions under control when you have paid over $30 to enter a tournament and cannot see your fng cards!

Only solution I am aware of is using a hud unless they have fixed it. Last time I played there I was still having an issue.

I revisited this thread tonight after seeing someone currently wrestling with this problem on the 888 official thread. Hello @reraee1.

Yes, I do have abnormally large amounts of patience. However, I have given up on the colour change-back. It was simply a path to frustration induced insanity. I now simply accept that green is sometimes yellow (and vice versa), orange is sometimes red (and vice versa), and purple is purple but can be easily confused with dark blue due to screen resolution/vibrancy/ bad eyesight. It's like Newspeak for poker notes.

As soon as their latest update simply did not work on my laptop, decided to play temporarily on browser, however there you could not see players stack sizes in blinds, also just the top50 players, and my flag is upside down. So so many mistakes which is looking pretty amature.
Its just bad to hear that the computer client has some weakness as well. My notes are big helping-hands in my game.
