No it does not happen often. Probably around the same frequenzy that it happen on pokerstars. A few times a year probably. Basically you just find something else to do for a few hours, until its up again, or even play on another site. Dont see why its a big deal :)

Well... I don’t by you,,,,

But I’m furious knowing that 888poker Cancelled all Tournaments that got affected by their “connection issue”...

I’m furious due to I already spent 2 filters to be where I was.... almost to be able to get the $100 ticket.... suddenly that effort time and headaches where not worth it....

So,,, still isn’t a big deal?

What an answer ....

Server crashes happen now and then on all poker sites, and they all have a policy for, how players are refunded, if tournaments need to be cancelled after starting. Of course server crashes are not ideal, but so far noone in the history of online poker have been able to completely avoid then. If you are unsure, how you were / will be compensated or feel, its not fair, then I suggest, that you write to their customer service.

You Just told me it doesn’t happen often,

And of course I sent an email complaining. I wish you could see the screenshot I took at final table and my chips and how secure I had that spot.

They didn’t take responsability of that,, they just apologize,

That’s why I’m mad and again,,, it’s a big deal, what can I do? Nothing,,, I just found very irresponsible from their part to do what ever they want. And very suspicious those connection issues.

Usually you will get a refund if the servers crash during a tournament...
I bet you got one too, so you can play againi and win that ticket.
Of course it is very unlucky to be stopped by a server crash, but since you
didn't already win something they are not required to give that to you...
I guess the other players would say how sure they would have stopped you and win
the ticket themselves....

Looking at it again I guess, OP was playing some kind of freeroll? And in that case I cant blame 888 Poker for not paying out anything, if it has to be cancelled due to a server crash. They are not obliged to arrange freerolls in the first place, and its not like, they owe him anything for spending his time.

If on the other hand it was a paid tournament, then the policy of most poker sites is to distribute the remaining price money between those players, who are still in the tournament. And usually its done by first refunding the buyin and then distribute the remaining money based on chips.

Hi...

well this was quite long time... And it wasnt a freeroll... It was a sunday megadeep sub sat... on sept 12
Server experienced a global crash... it was on twitter and other social media...
I had to dive in Terms and conditions for not making as some of you perhaps did... assumption

Regardin their Server outtage Policy
Tournaments got cancell... all of them when outtage happened... prizes had to be divided in all of remaning players... in my case which it was like 4 players... 1 sitted out and 2 more be being chip leader... i didnt get the ticket $109 for final tournament
at the end and presenting proofs of screenshots and every detail almost impossible to get that they asked they gave me a $5.5 big fish ticket... totally unacceptable...

Distributing the price money based on chips or maybe even ICM would be more fair. But its also more complicated, and if the TOS say, its distributed evenly among players, then this is just the way, it is. You accepted the TOS, when you signed up, and if this ever happen again, you might be the short stack, and even distribution will be good for you. For the record I have played around 3.000 tournament on 888 Poker, and not a single one has been cancelled. Sucks that it happened to you, but maybe time to just put it behind you and enjoy all the nice tournaments, which 888 Poker has to offer :)

I actually found this part of the TOS on 888 Poker now, but unfortunately I am redirected to the danish site, so I can not post a link or copy the exact text. But in short the refund policy of 888 Poker for tournaments, that are cancelled after starting, is like this:

1) Busted players get to keep their winnings including bounties
2) Remaining players get to keep any bounty money, they already won
3) Remaining player are refunded the money, they paid, including rebuys and add-ons
4) Whatever is left of the price pool after subtracting 1-3 is distributed evenly among remaining players

Point 4) obviously suck, if you are the chip leader, but its equal for everyone playing, so in my opinion there is nothing unfair or unacceptable about it. Its also worth noting, that when there is a server crash, a lot of tournaments will be cancelled, while they still have a significant overlay. So on average the remaining players are actually overcompensated by 888 Poker rather than the opposite :)

Hi again,,,,

m pretty sure you guys have played this stallites tournaments.... those are not easy at all... already in third sat... few minutes to win it due to 2 guys kind of sure were bots... were sitted out... and it was remaning very low chips players and me... almost 6x difference between 2nd...

that being said... i dont understand why it could be fair... to not receiive the actual prize of the tournaments wen OP says prize will be distributed equally...

let me say first... i didnt receive anything at all... it was after I presented an email complaning with all the details.... which in first place were not necessary at all... due to automatically and in a god faith i can say... after the issue happened.. i were supposed to get the " equal ammount of prize"... and i didnt receive ..****....

it was after many days.. and lots of emails complaning because i received like 4 or more emails from different supporters ... making my self each email explaning everything at all again... it was quite exhausting... so I will say again it was totally unacceptable.

Hopefully after this you could agree with me little bit more...

just to mention... days before i won the exact tournament... 3.56k

So its quite weird... all this happened.

ps- Ive not being quite close to get another spot like that.... also i havent experienced any other simillar outage since then.
