I was playing a cash game "upstairs" at Ceasar's old room when they held the NBC Heads Up Tournament and someone at my table dragged down a huge pot and mucked his cards saying he had Ten Deuce.
For some reason I opened my mouth and said Ten Deuce is a shit hand!
Dolly was just entering the room on his scooter and had heard the short conversation and rolled up the ramp to the "upstairs" and right behind me announced, "Yeah it is!" and just as quickly scooted away down the ramp to the tournament.
I woke up and opened the website to read what's new and.... boom.... shock....
Not having lived only a couple of months before his 90th birthday, a truly great man left us.
He took an entire era of poker with him, but left a huge poker legacy for many current and future poker players.
We don't know the cause of death yet, but at that age it really could have been anything.
Rest in peace, Godfather of Poker.🙏🌺🌺
