He's got a long way to go, and a lot could happen, but like I pointed out in another thread, he is familiar with the big feilds and also with playing on the big stack. It looks good for him right now. My prediction is that if he ends today with the chip lead, he will repeat.

i tihnk that with only 186 players left, he will make it to the fual table at least, as you say, he is used to the big fields and he is a great poker player, good luck to him, he should have turned pro years ago.

Dutch Boyd is all-in preflop with K-10 and is called by Chris Todlewski with A-A. The board comes Q-J-5, giving Boyd an open ended straight draw. The turn is a K. Boyd can now also hit an A for a chop. The river is the 4s, and Dutch Boyd's busted straight is eliminated by Todlewski's pocket Aces.

Hey Diablo, what is the significance of their "feature table"? Is there some way to view it, or the results of individual hands or what?

Damn, I can't belive Lederer and Boyd are gone. And the Feature table is just a rotating slate of players moved to be "featured" when ESPN shows the series. It is usually reserved for the ratings grabbing players and the people with large chipstacks.

Tim Phan Busts One - Is New Chip Leader

With the flop showing 9-8-4 Phan bets out, and is reraised all-in for $300,000 by Nani Dollison. Phan immediately calls. Dollison shows A-9, Phan shows 4-4. The turn card is a 9, increasing the number of cards that could counterfeit Phan's hand. The river is the 5s - no help for Dollison. She is eliminated, and Tim Phan is now chip leader with $1,750,000 in chips.

JC Tran is out as well.

Nick Cassavettes, representing the last of the Hollywood stars, is hanging in there with $400,000.

Pat

Raymer Cannot Be Stopped

Gen Wattanabe goes all-in for his last . Greg mentions that he knows he's behind, but decides to call. Wattanabe shows J-J with one spade. Raymer turns over 8-6 - no spades. The flop comes 7s-3s-2s. Raymer has no pair, and no solid draw, while Wattanabe still has an overpair and a flush draw. The turn is a non-spade 5, giving Raymer an open ended straight draw, but he's still behind. The river brings a non-spade 9. Raymer hits his runner-runner straight, busts Wattanabe, and is now sitting atop a stack of $1,600,000.

Sorry, I didn't copy the most recent chip count, but it just changed big time anyway. Raymer is down to about 700K, but Ivey just vaulted to either the chip lead or very close to it. Here's the most recent update at cardplayer.com:

With the flop showing K-K-5, Phil Ivey bets $50,000. Brian Stelwagen makes it $250,000 to go. Ivey makes it another $350,000 more to go. Stelwagen raises all-in, and Ivey instantaneously calls, and shows A-K. Stelwagen shows 8-8. Ivey has him covered and nearly doubles up to almost $2,000,000.

The chips are flying. Raymer just got another big pot to push his stack up again.

After a flop of Q-J-6, Raymer checks. Bonyadi bets $30,000. Raymer calls. The turn is a 4. Raymer bets out $100,000. Bonyadi calls. The river is a Jack. Raymer bets $300,000. Boyadi calls again. Raymer shows 6-6 for a full house, and Bonyadi mucks. Raymer is back up to $1,300,000.

I would love to see Ivey and Raymer at a final table together. Raymer with his bully tactic and Ivey as unshakeable as he is...it would be crazy. I don't think heads up between those two would last more than 10 hands, lol.

Mike Matusow walks by as Phil Ivey scoops a $300,000 pot off of Johnny Howard and exclaims, "You are my idol Phil!" The Mouth's idol is sitting with just over TWO million chips.

$%@#$%. I just went to check the latest chip count before I went to bed, and I was shocked to see that Ivey is all but gone. He must have went all in and lost, and is not at a little over 100k! Raymer is also down (400k). Matusow has slipped to about 800k, and Juanda is now below a million. All the names are dropping like flies. At this rate, it's likely to be a "who's that" instead of a "Who's Who" at the final table. Ugh!
