Update thread

I know he came in second at a WTP event. I don't really follow him closely though.

Play resumed after a 15 minute break, and the blind structure is 400/800 with a 100 ante.

Moneymaker has had several high-profile finishes since the 2003 main event, according to bluff Magazine. Also, I think he is doing pretty good with his book, Moneymaker Enterprises, and other endorsements he received.

Lederer is at 35K

By the way, the field is down to 1,120 players left in the field. The goal is to get it down between 500-1000. They should have that soon.

Updates

Looks like Ivey is hanging on for dear life. Hopefully, he can ride it out and get better luck tomorrow. Farha has come way down from the top of the chip lead. Good thing is that there are still a lot of names left despite all the eliminations. If Ivey gets eliminated, I hope someone like Chip Reese, Flack, or Lederer makes the final table instead of a bunch of young punks.

"At the ESPN Featured Table, Layne Flack was all in with pocket sixes against another player's pocket aces. Flack continues to be on a hot streak, catching a six on the flop to crack the aces. Flack is comfortable, smiling, and having a great time. He looks completely different than his weak and groggy appearance on Day One." Cardplayer.com

Howard Lederer $35,000
Sammy Farha $32,000
Phil Ivey $17,000

Thanks for doing the chip counts joshyb, I'm on my sidekick and have to type the damn things twice to post them. Once into my notepad then once onto cardschat, I don't have cut and paste so it takes forever. Keep em' coming (so I don't have to, lol)

I'm glad to see, Phil Ivey making a strong comeback, Lederer is still dangerous with 50,000, Mike the Mouth is my man, and Flack is kicking ass.

I also wouldn't mind Chip Reese getting some much deserved attention finally. He's a very successful cash game player that has some serious skills.

just in
Gavin Griffin doubles up with a 10-high Flush, against a set, and is sitting at 320,000.

Robert Mizrachi, The Grinder's brother, is eliminated.

Phil Ivey has been moved to the ESPN Feature Table.

Update 7:00pm PST-Dinner Break
When the players return, the blinds will be 600 and 1200 with a $200 ante.

Huck Seed (1996 Main Event champion) eliminated when his QQ didn't hold up against A-K. His opponent caught an Ace on the flop, and the turn and the river were blanks, sending him home on his first "all-in" of the tournamnet. Also eliminated before the dinner break was AJ Kelsall.

Sammy Farha is continuing to work his way back up the ladder, taking out opponent after short-stacked opponent.

I also suspect that the night will end fairly early in relation to the other three nights of the tournament. They seem to be dropping numbers rather rapidly.

Why was Ivey jumping up and down? That seems very out of character. Also, does anybody know if this Bob Goen is the Entertainment Tonight guy?

Yea, that was me man. It was to my West, but we got a shitload of rain and some pretty good wind gusts. There were some tornados near here and we've been without power since last night about this time. But we didn't get anything more than a really bad storm, and two days of straight rain. The people out toward Pensacola and Panama City are getting clobbered. I hope for the best for them. We went through 4 last year and it was hell. All total we were without electricity for almost a month (20 odd days) during the 4 hurricanes, and let me assure you, it sucks. You never know how bad it sucks, until you live through it. And that's just the inconvenience part, then you have the property damage and other crap...its terrible. Anyway, off the soapbox...typing sucks on this 3 inch keyboard, lol.

Good to hear your alright though man. I live in the heartland, and Tornados are a seemingly daily occurence at times. The closest I've ever been to a hurricaine was when I lived in Houston, and one hit south of us (Corpus I believe), so I really don't have any first hand knowledge, but I believe you when you say its hell.

Gordon got busted yesterday, on a stupid move. He bet $1100 preflop, some guy goes all in over the top for about $15K and Gordon thinks for a second a calls with pocket J's. Walking right into the guy's pocket Kings. Gordon didn't improve and was eliminated.

Who cares if who got hurt? If you're talking about me, that is a retarded statement to make to someone who is currently in the midst of a natural dissaster with his wife and two little boys with him. I hope you weren't talking about me. If you indeed were, please confirm it in this thread so I can flame you out of existance.

*edit*
I forgot to add moron to the end of that last sentence.
