A few google searches did not come up with a direct answer. Why bag chips at the end a flight of a Poker Tourney? Why not just count them and have the player sign off on the count on a form. Then you get the same value of chips at the start of Day 2. Just curious.

It would be a lot more work to have to re-count and stack the proper number of chips in for every person the next day.

Bagging is easy and secure. The chip count is confirmed , goes in a sealed bag and you get a receipt for them. You bring that receipt with your id back the next day and they hand you your bag of chips.

You might be surprised at the amount of players that are superstitious about their chip stacks. Many players hate coloring up and if they ended the day with heaps of the lowest chip denomination; they'd put up a HISSY fit if they didn't restart with the same stacks.

Can you imagine going to day 2 of a event with 1900 players and having to give out the amount of chips they all should have? It would take way to long and involve so many people it would not be worth it. Just putting the bag with the sealed in chips inside is so much simpler in my opinion.
