Hello Everyone.
Not a stranger to Cards chat as I was a long standing member and frequent contributor to the forum before going on a couple years hiatus.

Since then I have started my own local home games running three times a week. Before I go further ill share some context regarding my home games. I would say my game is a premium setup, having a dedicated dealer at all times, catered chef(free meals for players), stock premium bar(free drinks for players), snack bar, premium table with integrated card shuffler, waitresses the whole 9 yards. The current stakes are $2/$5 with min $150 buyin.

I am looking to do a $5/$10 game once a month and i am wondering what the min buyin should be. I was reading on some other platforms that $500 is ok and some others were saying $1000.

I would really like some feedback thanks.

A luxury the organization I congratulate you I would say that with 500 to start is fine and if it is profitable you will raise it to 1000 greetings

Min of $500 would be fairly standard. With your amenities you wouldn't want to have any short stacks to start with and 50BB is OK.

Have seen may home games and casinos have the minimum be 40BB or $400.00. While I would like it deeper as the min 40BB is fine.

Luxurious conditions for home play!
The casinos I've been to have a minimum buy-in of 50 BB.

I think 30-50BB for min would be fine. So at 5/10; $300-$500, imo.

At the casino that I play, 30BB has been the min. 100BB is the max, although you can buy in for the same amount as the biggest chip stack. So, in a 1/2 game, normally $200 would be the max, unless someone has $400, then you can buy in for $400.

I would have to go with the consensus here and say that $500 should be the minimum.

Sounds like a great setup!

I like the 40BB minimum that most places do. Depending on players and what they want you could make the upper end buy-in bigger too. Or have max buy-in equal the biggest stack to make things interesting.
