Wow...was it a change from months of online. It was fantastic to once again feel those cards in my hand, toss the chips into the pot, and chat with real flesh and blood people.
There are a few habits I picked up online that caused me a little embarrassment. The first was that I have grown to really like the "Fold" button, which I press as soon as I know that I am not going to play the hand. That resulted in many hands being mucked before it was my turn.
Then I held up the game for a bit a few times while I was figuring out how big the pot was. That is a skill that I had almost mastered before moving to online only nine months ago. The third thing was getting used to not having that buzzer to remind me when it was my turn. My attention can wander so that was another "rookie" mistake. LOL!!
It may have helped me though by making me look a little like a scatterbrained blonde, which of course isn't true because I'm a scatterbrained brunette.
All in all I enjoyed myself, as did everyone else, so no harm no foul. I am playing right now and while that "Fold" button is quite attractive, I'm giving him the cold shoulder.
That, and a few other things, should put me in good form when I take that two hour drive to play a tourney this weekend.
