Hi, Now that Christmas is near I thought to invest some money in live poker games on the casino or home games with my friends but my experience with live poker is very small. I know that players want to see flops and tend to play limp/call. I know that multiway pots are more often than heads-up pots.Αll of these are known to me but this that I don't know and here I need your help is how to adapt my basic strategy that beats micros stakes to beat the donks at live tables? How much large need to be my isolate to take the pot? My 3bet range hands (AQ AJ KQ a.o) need to call with these or need 3bet and if yes 3 4 or 5x? Need to respect the raise on the turn and on the river as much as on the internet?
These are some of my questions that I want your help also everything that needs to know and it is important I want to you share it with me because this Christmas I smell a lot of money and I want a part of them.
Thanks in advance

Firstly, as a recommendation, I advise you to go to the cash tables at the casino as an observer, it is always good to see what kind of players there are, to identify after all if it is reatable to play with certain players or not. If the table is full of regulars, then no, if there are recreational players, yes. 2. Raise amounts, vary according to the player and style of play at the table, if the blinds are very short and the players pay, it is convenient to do OpenRaise from x5 to x8

Live poker is so much less frustrating than online. At the end of the day you will win a lot more playing live than online if you are good. It is like night and day! Nothing can replace being able to read your opponent with your own eyes!!!

Hi danoncebay thank you for your interest, maybe I need to be more specific about what's going on in my place. The place I live doesn't have casinos but has one " illegal " poker club it is not like the movies with gangsters and mafia it is safe and nice. There all the players and the owner also are fish. The cash games are with 10 people max and the blinds are 0.50/0.50 (for some reason). I have played there sometimes and the minimum raises are 5$ to 8$. If I go there I need to play the lowest 300$ to play comfortably and I don't want to invest 300$ at my first time because I wouldn't have money for some other time. So I think that at this time it is better one home game with fish. But how I would have an advantage from my opponents that trouble me.

i wouldn't try to have "balanced" ranges if I was only going to the casino for weekend shot. I would probably just play nutted hands. Not get too spewey. Not try to outplay people. Not bloating the pot pre. Just play nutted hands.

Playing live is my bread and butter. I play online to practice and hone my skills but when I am live I play very differently. In the state I live in you cant bet more than 500 at a time so it definitely leaves the opportunity for good action. As a general rule I will take around 1000 with me to the casino when I play. I will play 500 and if I bust then i am able to reload. You always want to have backup in case you have to reload at some point because you got a bad hand or you recieved a bad beat or your just running dead. Thats my advice when it comes to live play.
