Absolutely Newcomers are welcome.

You can use the App called Bravo to find out what limits are currently being spread at whichever casino you choose to play at. It will tell you how many tables of each game and the amount of players on the waiting list.

Find out what the min. and max buy in amounts for the limit that you plan on playing. Usually $1/$2 is the lowest spread no limit hold-em cash game.

There really isn't anything special you need to know. If you're going to play cash. You just show up walk to the counter with all the T.V's displaying the different games. and tell them what you want to play. They will tell you what table to go too and you head to the cage buy some chips and sit down at the table. The dealer will assist you in all that you need to know as far as swiping your "rewards" card and getting dealt in.

If you're playing a tournament you go to the cage before the tournament or during registration and they will give you a receipt with your table number and seat number. The dealer will give you your chips at the table unless it's a tournament where they give out the chips at the counter which happens sometimes when alternates our involved.

Expect a lot of limping in live play, and drunks with tons of money just looking to have fun. Pay attention to what people are doing you will notice a lot of leaks in peoples game. Be sure to protect your cards especially in the 1 and the 10 seat dealers will accidentally muck your hand, but it's the players responsibility to protect their cards. Above all have fun and win big!

Don't be nervous! Just remember, it's a game and you're meant to have fun! If you're going to a 1/2 game, make sure that the money you're going with isn't for rent or gas, otherwise the way you're thinking isn't correct. Take mental notes of how other people act. Don't show your hand unless at showdown. Let us know how you do!
