Was at a Live Game and the Dealer is a friend of mine and absolutely hates playing me.
I get KK on a KK board and do the shove somewhere on the turn or river, opponent folds and my nemesis is dumbfounded thinking i bluffed
I take a big pot either way.
Most people show the hand because its Rare I suppose.
Well I muck'd it
The dealer slylly gets my cards and peeks and his expression looked like Bruce Willis when he finds out he is "Dead People"
He looked at me like are you really mucking this.
He doesn't play poker against me anymore and stopped inviting me to the home games

Sometimes you gotta do fishy stuff to keep the fish happy

I am assuming this guy was not a real 'dealer', but just a former friend who plays against you in a home game. Total douche bag to look at your mucked cards.
There is a guy in my home game who does similar things from time to time, but he is almost 80 years old and a real fish, so we pass off his indiscretions and take his money.

If you want to muck the cards, muck them. You are not obligated to show anything that you do not want to show and no one has right to ask you to do that. I usually do not open my cards face up even when I hit straight/royal flush because it is kind of tell I do not want to give my opponents. I show cards only with purpose to mislead the opponents and give them a fake tell in particular situations.

You are correct it was a home game... for cash nonetheless.
He was a douchebag .. he even left me at the ends of cash game in the middle of nowhere at 8 am because of a long battle lol and a bluff that made him fold top top on the floplolz

Was a long walk home

Professional dealers don't retrieve cards from the muck and look at them.
True but at the time I wasn't 18 and poker here in the USA is illegal.. so i dont say everything kk guys but yes you are correct lolz

I would have done the same thing, I never show my hand unless they pay to see it. They did not and its an easy toss them into the muck. This being said, I would show the royal flush if I had one. Never had one live and only 2 online so yeah that would be the exception.

Glad you took down the pot. I came in here thinking it was going to be a bad story.

Like you, I never show...it cost me $300 once, when I tossed a full house into the muck after my opponent folded...didn't remember that there was a "High Hand" bonus of $300, and my hand would have won that...oh well, I certainly learned from that experience...I was just so pleased that I won a pot for about $230...that would have covered my wife's spa day.

I catch them doing it a lot. They shouldn't do that because their facial expressions give away stuff just like players. If the player does not want to show that should include the dealer. I got my eyes on them like a hawk, I catch them miscounting, saying stuff they shouldn't during hands, even missing a burn card occasionally, and other stuff that would have gone totally unnoticed if I had not seen it.

I sat down at a black jack table
where the dealer would look at his down card when the other cards the ace is showing,
smile at me after looking at the down
and then ask for insurance
everytime he smiled he had blackjack
if he didnt
then he didn't
he wasn't supposed to look at the card before asking about insurance lol
