A hand was down to me and one other player. I had a lock win at the turn. he bet i raised big. he looked down at his chips and said "I'm done!" and threw is cards towards middle of the table. i then tossed my cards in the muck. He said "you mucked your cards thats my pot" I said "you folded" he said "No I didnt i was still thinking"
tournament dir. gave him the hand. what does everyone think of this.

This is a bad situation... not fair. Will have it in mind when I play live.

In my eyes if you trow you cards in the middle(over the line) then its a fold.

He just fool you by making you think he fold his hand :D or its accident or with purpose don't know but it's strange anyway if you had reraise and was his move than he shouldn't get the hand :D

This is a very tough situation and I'm sorry that you had to experience that. Unfortunately a lot of different floor directors have different opinions from my perspective. In regards to your situation, once the other player throws his cards over the line, it is considered a fold, especially if it's out of the players reach to retrieve. I think this is a friendly reminder to everyone that going forward, push your cards in once the pot is pushed to you. That way there can be nothing that they can say.

Always wait until the dealer pushes you the chips before you muck your cards. easy fix.

I think you just set up a more reputable player!
