I was playing $1/$2 cash over the weekend. On the button with 99 and $500 behind. UTG ($100) opens for $10, 3 calls, I call, both blinds call. I flop top set. Blinds check, UTG jams, 3 folds. I snap call by throwing one chip in the middle and announcing my call. Blinds fold and we turn our cards up. He has aces and spikes an ace on the river. Of course, the table has its input on the hand, the dealer drags the pot and we move on.
After folding a couple of hands and getting up from the table for about an orbit, I get dealt AA. I reach for chips to open the pot and realize I still have almost $500 in chips. I end up winning a big all in multi way pot. I realize over the next couple of hands that the reason my stack still had about $500 is because I never put in the call on that previous hand. The dealer just dragged the chip I threw in and nobody noticed.
Would you try to correct the pot from the initial hand? and how would you go about doing it. I won an extra $150ish than I should of on the next hand too, should I be correcting that?
I ended up trying to give the opponent from the first hand the $85 he should have had, but he refused it saying he should have realized. I did it away from the table.
